One of the best dramas I have ever seen!

I am going to be so honest, I first started this drama just because I was bored and Bailu is my queen so I gave it a try. Before even starting I told myself "Oh I'll probably just watch ep 1 & 2 but not more then that, this drama is not the style I usually go for" but when I tell you I fell in love with this story from the first episode I mean it. The cinematography is so beautiful, the way they portrayed their childhood is so realistic it made me cry multiple times remembering my own childhood and how I also used to play with my neighbors in the street all day. The transition between being kids to teenagers to adults is so smooth and doesn't feel abrupt at all, the writing is well, it didn't make me feel confused because everything was done so nicely. Shoutout to the writers and directors because this drama is literally a piece of art! The emotions, the acting, the music and lyrics, everything was done so well, so beautifully. The plot wasn't confusing at all, the pace made me feel comfortable. Overall a masterpiece that you need to give a chance too, I am sure you will love it~

Do Not Watch!!!!

Seriously, I finished this drama when it was coming out. Technically I didn't cuz i couldn't even bring myself to watch the last two episodes. I initially went into this drama because I love love loved "Strong Girl Do Bong Soon" and because I absolutely love Byeon Wooseok but unfortunately my love for either of them couldn't make me like this drama one bit!

First the story line and plot, what the hell was happening? Such a messy story writing cuz when did Heesik and Namsoon even started dating? The timing was so freaking off! And the whole Ryu Shioh plot didn't make sense at all! Now a lot of people came at me and complained about how its only because the villain is handsome and if it was an ugly actor then I wouldn't give a freak. Nope absolutely not, because what do you mean by Shioh being tortured all his childhood and abused then forced into this and is still the bad guy? What do you mean he bought the orphanage where he was kidnapped from and turned it into a boxing ring? What do you mean he opened a store for his father that abandoned him so that he could sustain himself? Please just start making villain actual villains if you are going to give them this kind of endings! Even if they choose the ugliest (I didn't wanna use this word but that's what people were coming at me with) actor for the role of Ryu Shioh I would have still feel bad for him and wished him a better future and a second chance at life.

Now I won't even talk about the mom because honestly she was horrible!!! What were those comments about Namin's weight and always criticizing him for the smallest things ever? Didn't like the grandma either. Namsoon's character was very cartoonish and stupid honestly, the only reason she became a cop at the end is because of her super strength and nothing else! What do you mean she and her mother saw the good in Hwa ja even when she tried to murder Namsoon but they couldn't use their brain to think for a single second about Shioh's situation and what might have caused him to become this person? I mean I guess Namsoon did think about that but when you might ask? The moment Shioh was holding that gun to his head.

The only tolerable characters were the dad and the whole reason why I watched this show was because of Byeon Wooseok. I also loved the Minmin and Bongbong Cameo but that's all, everything else was not satisfactory at all!

I hope that the whole sad villain backstory will stop in kdramas and I hope you all know that I am a hundred percent not hating the real actors and actresses, I am however hating on the director and writer of this story cuz how did you write this and read it and was like yes this is amazing like what part of it made sense to you for you to make it a drama? That plus making it a sequel to one of the best kdrama that exist? Lets get it together and not make a mistake like this again!

Honestly a big reason why I am so mad is because this drama had soooo much potential, like so much potential where if the changed the plot just a tiny bit this could have been a great kdrama. They could have not given Shioh the sad backstory, if they still did give Shioh the sad backstory they could have made him work together with the police in the end to take Pavel down completely. I just said it shortly and you might think it doesn't make sense but obviously they did need to change a few things like how Shioh was forced to distribute the dr*gs and that he was actually secretly making the antidotes and he also secretly wanted to take Pavel down but didn't have enough power alone because he knew that Pavel had connections with the police as well and Geum Ja, the mother, the grandmother, Namsoon and Heesik could have formed a secret group with Shioh to take Pavel down and distribute the antidotes so that people who took the drugs could survive.

Honestly I could go on and on but I'll just stop here, I have ranted enough, I got everything off my chest.




P.S If you loved this drama good for you, I am glad you enjoyed it but this is just my opinion. Or maybe you went into it with a lower expectation so it is not as disappointing for you, honestly that is great but as a drama that was promoted as Strong Girl Do Bong Soon season 2 and sequel it shouldn't have been this disappointing.

If you want to watch this drama I highly do NOT recommend it, save your time, save your tears that will go to waste and save yourself! Kisses~~~

I am drowning in a pool of tears~

First and foremost, lets praise the actors for portraying the characters so well. The emotions where there, the plot was also there, this show is a masterpiece!

This drama was one of the best I have watched this year and though I would have loved to see more of Mingsheng and Qingyu, I do realise that this drama has more of a serious meaning behind it so I am not mad. I am also glad that they are using this to bring awareness to AIDS but also mental health and family issues. The mother's story was also very sad though I do agree that she was not a great mother, I put 90% of the blame on the dad's side of the family. The dad was a coward who couldn't stand up to his parents even at the ripe age of 40-50 and let them step all over his wife and children, he did redeem himself a little in the last few episodes but overall I blamed the dad more than the mom...

Lastly, I just have to mention Zhou Yiran's acting in the last 2 episodes, especially the restaurant scene? UGH! He is such a great actor I had tears streaming down my face during that scene with the overflowing emotions... I can't get enough of this. Also am I the only one who wished that the drama had maybe an episode or two more? LIKE I GET IT, I KNOW THE POINT OF THE SHOW but like it would have been nice seeing MingYu couple having a little romance, ALSO I see a few people saying that they like that Chinese dramas are getting shorter and I have to loudly disagree! I feel like 30-38 episode are necessary for some dramas. But then again it depends on the drama and the plot, we don't want it to seem like it was rushed and we also don't want it to feel like it is being dragged. With this drama I think even if it was a 30 episode drama it would have brought more satisfaction to people, specially if we could see the MingYu couples for a while, the mom and dad getting better, the brother getting older. Them just being happy but then again I get that the point of the drama is more serious and I am not sad about the ending.

I am actually so disappointed...

I am actually so disappointed... THAT THIS DRAMA IS OVER 😭
When I tell you I am in love with this drama I mean it! The acting, the OST, everything was absolutely incredible. The only reason I gave the story a 9/10 is because I did get frustrated about Yimeng being so stubborn and not seeing how amazing our Nan Heng is, I cried for Nan Heng so much like bro was really suffering in this story and it was unbearable for me but I get it, it's apart of the plot so meh I guess. Don't get me wrong though I absolutely loved Song Yimeng's character as well ok, the actress did an amazing job and I understand her point of view maybe 75% of the time okay, the girl was scared of being turned into a human pig and having her whole family beheaded. The only character I hated since the early stages of this drama is no drum roll cuz I am sure everyone agrees is Chu Guihong, this guy.... Oh my god save me.... So stupid, so dense, so unhinged like I am sorry I didn't get him AT ALL. Like brother even the Emperor who we thought was the stupid and crazy got his senses together at that old age but you can't use your brain? PLEASE! Over all this drama is freaking amazing, I am so thankful to the producers and the writers for giving us TWO possible happy endings like I couldn't ask for more but I kinda wanna ask for a season 2 solely for the reason of me wanting to see them live their life happily ever after with kids in modern time but like yeh I am asking too much so ignore me I guess.... Lmao all jokes aside, I will definitely rewatch this drama, this drama is a 100% going to my top 5 drama of the year list. I AM JUST IN LOVE OK? To the point where like I was genuinely soooo sad when I finished it not because it was bad obviously I have been praising this drama for 10 mins now but because it was sooooo good I didn't want it to be over! I was like "can't we have 5 more episodes? Too much? 3? No? 1? Pleaseeee? I am begging on my knees?" like yeh... PLEASE WATCH THIS DRAMA CUZ LIKE YEH IT IS HELLA AMAZING~
