Adding to the first factor we still don't know the whole story between the two families, like it wasn't properly explained. To anyone who has read the novel, is it explained there? if so could you share what really happened in detail?

I see a lot of people hating on the last ep (which is why the rating dropped) and I have a few things to say towards that. I understand why people would find it unsatisfactory as some things are left out like the conflict with the parents (although to a certain extent they do kind of accept their relationship and know that they cannot stop PatPran from being together however it has not been completely resolved).
Another thing is with the whole pretending plot which threw some people off. A lot of people were just not satisfied with how the whole episode and events were presented after the perfect 11th episode that really pulled on our heartstrings.
Here is my opinion: I agree that the last episode was not so to say PERFECT, but I think it was good in terms of ending the series like that and I cannot complain as it gave us the wanted ending unlike the novel (from what I heard the novel's ending was different) and many sweet scenes.
So all in all I think that haters can just GO away and the rating needs to go BACK UPPPPPP. That's it.

Yea I thought about the second comment about covid while watching sometimes. I do see why they did it, and I'm pretty sure that the pandemic wasn't in their filming plans either so they tried to avoid it. It might seem a bit bizzare that they completely throw the idea of Covid out but if they would even mention it a bit then the whole show could be centered around the idea that they are in the pandemic and ignore or rather side track from the original plot.
