Technically, Iraqis speak Arabic, but in ep2 we saw that they speak persian, which is really ridiculous...i wish…
It was such a set off for me. I would've continued (only for Taemin and Matsuda Shota's sake), but the moment they did that I quitted it.

The overacting in JDrama/movies/anime stems from traditional Japanese theater like Kabuki and Noh theatre, where…
I wouldn't say all live-action remakes are necessarily the worst: Ruroni Kenshin, Kakegurui, Alice in Borderland and Tokyo Revengers are all live-action remakes of anime and are brilliant. I will even get brave, and call Ruroni Kenshin a master-piece.

If you're looking for comedies, then I'll recommend anything from Fukada Yuichi. He makes very fun comedies, but they can also be very wacky and over-the-top. So, if you can handle that, then I'll recommend them. Some of my personal favorite works by his are Kyo Kara Ore Wa!! and One Pound Gospel. Tokyo DOGS is also very good (Tell in case you watched them, then I'll recommend others). I think the famous Hana Kimi can also be classified as comedy and also just released on Viki and can be watched legally - Atashinchi no Danshi, which is created by same director is also good. Don Quixote, Switch Girl and Yukan Club also never fails to put a smile on my face. Just want to warn, that some of these are veeeeeeery over-the-top, can make you think "Wtf" and are from a different time, so some of the humor may not be suitable for 2022.

For romance dramas, I really like "The Last Cinderella" is a very cute romance drama if you haven't watched it - it does however have adult content, so I won't recommend it, if you're underage or dislike adult content. I also really like Heroine Disqualified, From me to You, Peach Girl, Sky Love, I Give My First Love to You, Drowning Love and of course, A Girl and Three Sweethearts.

Believe it or not, when I had to watch my first K, C or Thai drama after getting used to Japanese dramas, I thought the overacting there was over-the-top.

Don't you think it's personal preference, rather than Chinese and Japanese lacking in terms of acting?

From the Korean dramas I have seen, the overacting isn't much different from the Japanese or from what I've seen of Chinese acting. They too go over the top, e.g when crying. Lately, I've been watching "The Penthouse" and from what I've seen in social media e.g TikTok and kisskh, it's also fairly popular. There is insanely amount of over-the-top and whilst I know it's the point of a makjang drama - the overacting was there, yet audience loved it. I personally enjoy it too....

So is it REALLY the fact that Japanese and Chinese acting is bad, or are people just used to Korean acting?

The overacting in JDrama/movies/anime stems from traditional Japanese theater like Kabuki and Noh theatre, where everything is extremely exaggerated, but every movement means something. It's a cultural thing, so it'll come off to international audience who won't get it.

Looking at your drama list, I would assume you never watched a single Japanese drama. Then how can you make the conclusion, that their actors can't act?

"Feed those actors some more food and put some meat on their bones. Next stick them in a gym for a few months" - How shallow can you just be?

But then, your username is KDramafan84. No wonder you're so biased.

I watched AiB and currently Squid Game. Neither are /that/ good, though I still prefer AiB. I personally don't…
Did I oversee anything? Because I didn't see anyone bashing on Squid Game. This is an article discussing AiB vs. SG, why the latter is popular and why people prefer the one they do.
Everyone seem respectful. If anything AiB is the one being more disrespected. Everyone keep saying how "anime" everything was, as if that's the only aspect of Japan.
A few people - including Knetizens - have however called the writer behind SG out, when he denied that he didn't get inspired by As the Gods Will - both death games involving death games and children games.

We're not jealous, only mad, that Netflix promoted SG everywhere the MOMENT it came out, but waited a year - just after SG came out - before they promoted AiB, which is why it got popular. We're also mad at people like you, who straight up disrespect it.
If we're the jealous ones, why did the Korean hosts at Asian Content Awards feel the NEED to mention Squid Game, after Alice in Borderland received their award? Who is the ACTUAL jealous person, despite their popularity?

Also, you're saying AiB fans are jealous, when the hosts at Asian content couldn't help but mention Squid Game RIGHT AFTER giving AiB an award. Whose the jealous and petty one here, DESPITE their fame and popularity? Y'all insequirities is pitiful.

What pisses me off is petty K-entertainment fan, who always will go their way to crap on any Asian media that isn't Korean and will drag anyone who prefers something else.

Masses of earth are sheep and just because something is more popular, doesn't make it automatically better. It just mean, it was market better. Netflix also promoted Squid Game much more, but just promoted AiB a year after it was released. You're statements aren't fair.

Regarding the scandal.
If it's true, that the underage girl lied about her age to approach Pi and Kame, then she can literally choke. If you're less than 18 (20 in Japan's case), don't go to a bar meant for 18/20+ to ruin someone's life to stigmatize them and their family for something they're not. Funny, how they're willing to go as far as FAKING THEIR ID in order to throw innocent people under the bus, because you think you're big and clever and then the person lied to is at fault.
Not only do these brats destroy lives, they are one of the biggest reasons, why ACTUAL victims don't dare to come out as they constantly doubt their own trust. Because of brats like those, people have a hard time believing ACTUAL victims.
Good job on framing innocent people, whilst making exploitation of women look like a joke. Cringe af.

Do you also boycott American shows and media releases for their systematic racism and causing wars everywhere?
Why can't we enjoy anything without bringing politics into it? Like I enjoy both Cdramas and American movies, but that doesn't mean that I support their wrongdoings.

You simply listed 4 and despite having seem them in dramas, they certainly don't surpass the amount of fully Japanese actors.
Also, half Japanese actors are still Japanese.

What? I'm a huge Jdrama fan and only know 1 or 2 Japanese actors, whom are also of European descent.
