i am no chinese, so as an international asian drama watcher, i see this thing everywhere and it honestly is ridiculous to me, ngl. it probably is really popular irl in china too, but where i live , if someone tries to act that way irl, there will be 10 people who will tear them a new one so that they dont behave that way.. esther has so many roles in which she uses this baby voice that i end up dropping them. am i a hater? nope. do i spread shit about her? again, nope. i have come to understand that as a cdrama it caters essentially to chinese audience who apparently like this thing. in a country where most chinese apps are banned, i really know nothing about her personality since i dont even find too many fanwars or rumours on social media to judge her, so i am not at a position to be a hater. as for this particular drama, since the character calls for it, talking like that is still understandable so for this one i will be less judgmental from now. as for other dramas, nope, i still cant put up with grown ass adult women talking like babies.

about the ratings, like i said i didnt rate it at all since that would be unfair as i couldnt watch it at all. and what i said just meant that IFF someone decides to rate it low for her voice i wouldnt be surprised. i am not pinning it on anyone, people hav different opinions and judgements. i am no stan or die hard fan of hers or anyone else for that matter. also the voice is bothering me, but since it is a STORY that i am in fact INTERESTED in ( n now that i have learnt thats how the fls voice should be like, it makes things better), skipping it just bcoz of voice, is too much, ig that isnt really easy for u to understand since u seem to be like those who decide on a drama based solely on the actors. anyway i simply shared my opinion, without bias.

In the manhwa, yes.

i just finished reading the manhwa, and from what i see so far they have changed A LOT of things esp in the relationship of jiwon with sumin, so i wonder how that affects the plot here in drama, also they added many things here that weren't in the manhwa, they changed the revelation entirely, the character of grandpa seems to be changed too, so i am curious how they will pull things here.. n it was such a pleasant thing to read too, such a satisfying source material

It is the first time im watching a game adaptation, also idk anything about chinese games either, so it was totally new to me. Im more used to the xianxia and wuxia dramas. So this helps. I will try watching it since i am curious about the story.

my goodness does esther yu enjoy acting and talking like a damn 6 yo? and wth is wrong with the dubbing? it is straight revolting, with such a childish annoying voice being spoken by an adult! it is the same with every esther yu drama, that extremely irritating childish behaviour with pouting and talking like an infant.. i wanted to watch this coz i love xukai so i just started it and in less than 10 mins i quit, all thanks to the FL.. now ik many of u are gonna come at me saying im a hater, go ahead, idc.. her voice and actions absolutely disgusted me, my ears need bleaching.. but since i didn't watch this im not gonna rate it.. but i can understand if people rate this low for the fl, she is unbearable, particularly her voice.

im making up some crazy and totally unrelated fan theories here- this was written by the same author as fae and oao, fae continues the love story of shiyi and zsc in a calm and quiet non turbulent life after they reincarnated n meet like some destined couple then sailing for a smooth journey. if oao watchers are here, they probably remember that feng qiao and cui feng couple didn't have a happy ending either. so what if, gu sheng and mo qing cheng are their reincarnations, hereto live a peaceful destined life with a happily ever after, much like zsc n sy from fae?
p.s- i know these 2 series are completely unrelated and my theory is totally absurd, but i am just pulling the similarities in the 3 series.
