u r looking for men who suffer, the ml in lar is one of the mls who suffer the most in cdramas, so u can get that. but he never once wronged the fl, ever, in any of their lifetimes. he never hurt her, rather he was the one hurt everytime. so there wasn't really anything for her to forgive him about. he was being punished and suffering for other's mistakes. it is angsty, but the ml was innocent in everything.

oh right that arc was pretty good too.. and it did feel a bit too cut down abruptly sometimes.. so it makes sense

one of the very few xianxia dramas where i actually liked the heavenly realm arc more than the mortal arc. wow

i would recommend immortal samsara coz bq and yd have similarities in being proud and making the ml suffer and also about choosing to forget their love.

finally someone who feels the same way as me! i started this 2 times now and progressed till the exact same part both times and then put it on hold. then realised that it is pointless coz i can't watch beyond ep 24. the palace politics is way too much for me. i like palace dramas but perhaps this was just too much or simply not my cup of tea

yes same. he often disappeared for 6 or 7 eps straight. but that maybe made me appreciate him more.

well then im glad the screenwriter did so. i never read the novel so idk what kinda villain Dfs was or how the novel story develops and how much it is different from the drama version, but i liked his character here thats for sure.

watching it for the 3rd time. there are so many despicable characters like hao chen, wu tong n others, basically all members of the righteous sects. but this hate that i feel for dongfang qingqi guy is on a different level. like wtf u weren't born without 6 senses like xuanji, where tf did u throw them away?

it has a good story, good acting. the fl is unbearable for many, but that's how her character is supposed to be which u will understand if u continue to watch, it is explained. maybe muting it will help since i didn't like the fls voice at all. it has a lot of angst. some irritating plot devices and side stories too. imo, i definitely say that it is worth the try but don't expect it to be engaging from the 1st ep. it has 59 eps, so it picks up slowly and there is mystery and conspiracy slowly unfolding. i am currently rewatching it for the 3rd time.

di feishengs character is underrated imo. but i loved the trio dynamic and friendship.
