And thanks for clarifying the novel ending. I never read the novel, but that soothes my pain from the drama. But a cat! Haha lol, LLH is an animal lover indeed.

though i see the ending this way since i don't think it ended positively. That beggar told him the location of the dead body. So that's where LLH died. As for his figure that appeared, i think it meant that he finally got the life he wanted for a few moments, right before his death. So that was him before his death, looking at the sea, a flashback. Ultimately what FDB and DFS saw was the empty beach. As for the dog, well it came with FDB, so its normal for it to look up and wag its tail looking at FDB when they stopped.
But i must say that if my interpretation is right, it would indeed be a fitting ending. Also, i believe such an ending was way too much of a forceful tragic ending because obviously in the last episode of the series, the king could've been surely saved by some other way. But i believe they purposely made it like that to give us a sad open ending. At least i am thankful that QWM and LLH didn't get back together.

yes exactly what i mean. they would make a great couple. and unlike his ex, she isn't a 2 timer. she knows what she wants and likes. she has dedication and determination. qwm has only taken favours from llh, but sxy has done quite a lot for llh actually

i know that this isn't romance focused, but still can't help but ship LLH with SXY.. i know how this ends from the spoilers in the comments, so it's all pointless, but anyway SXY is a million times better than QWM.. even if it had romance and hadn't ended the way it did, if it brought together LLH and QWM in the end, i would have totally hated the ending.

the relationship dynamic between yumo, yandan and yingyuan is beyond precious. this drama might not be everyone's cup of tea, but for me, i loved it totally. albeit there were scenes that were poorly edited, some stupid characters and foolish life choices by the main characters, but despite everything i loved it all. totally my type of story. also the performance of the actors was way too good. gonna rewatch soon.

Edit: i finished this just a week ago, but i just couldn't move on from it. Went back and rewatched it. And im even more drowned and unable to move on.
But i must say, someone give xuanxiang an award for being THIS stupid.

this drama is a novel adaptation that strays so far away from the novel that readers forget what the novel was about. i am not complaining about its quality, but i just don't get the point of adapting a novel only to slaughter its original essence. if u want to change the whole novel story, just do that as an original, without calling the drama a novel adaptation. they literally changed everything yet they call it adapted from a novel.

nah i stopped watching it after ep 11.. i will wait until all 25 are released and then watch them all together.. the wait is agonising and makes poor me crave a romance for myself.. can't take that.. so im gonna wait.. i was just watching a few clips and bts on youtube.. and also remembering the scenes from the earlier eps

also i think that actors can mostly be of 2 types.. one type fits in costume dramas better and the other fits modern ones.. since those who look good in both are very few.. anyway hidden love made me fall in a not so hidden love with czy.. his visuals are just perfection.. he looks like straight out of an anime with his specs on.. he fits modern dramas perfectly
