In the drama, I think he may have realized it(remember that outstretched and withdrawn hand?), but he just believed his profession and the possibility of early death made him shouldn't pursue her.

Yes he did a good job! I must say the director is very good at picking actors, I like every leading actor in this drama. Hoping Qing Lan will be another role suprise me. We need more charming girls here!
