Thank you so much for this fair and obective review, highlighting all the issues but mentioning some good points, too. I feel exactly the same way about the series and I am glad someone pointed out how this oppressive, stifling, controlling behaviour is not cute at all. I do think that it would be harder nowadays to get something like this aired with a heterosexual couple, which is good probably... I hoped till the end of the story that both Kuea and Khondiao would be able to free themselves or find some equal standing with their respective partners and I am still somewhat disgusted and sad about how it turned out.
