tbh, it had a strong start and middle, but it's like from episode 12 they realized they only had 4 episodes left and rushed things, threw out logic and took shortcuts that made no logical sense. All things considered, it's a good watch, it was good at bringing out emotions from the viewer, the production was great in that sense. The acting was good most of the time, but there were some cringe moments or weirdly acted moments that left a bad impression for me (the epilogue is a great example of that, I found it so unnecessary and cringe, it kinda ruined the ending)

better than the first season imho, mostly because the narrator voice is gone, thankfully they realized it was useless, but also because the guy that always laughs actually had a reason to do so in this season, and at least he took less screen time this season so it was less annoying overall. The quest originality was alright, I thought the "story" should be a more important aspect because there are things that went unexplained and deserved some explanation, like.. we saw Andre was fine at some point, yet he appears as a zombie later on.. like, elaborate for a few minutes on what happened please? Also, what happened to Patricia, who was with him? How does the government know that there is a 1 in 2.5 million chance that an individual can become immune? if they know, is it not because they already found one and could've developed a cure? So many questions, and not a single answer. And the ending.. I guess they want to make a 3rd season to this joke of a show, for some reason. Anyway, it was at least a lot more enjoyable than the first season, they did break character A LOT, but I'm pretty sure it was way less than the first season.

I finally decided to watch it in its entirety after trying to watch the first episode and dropping it a few years ago. Honestly, there were too many negative aspects for me to enjoy it, even though some moments were kinda funny and made me smile for half a second.

None of the "characters" (cast members) were really relatable for me, they pretty much all acted stupidly at one point or another, betrayed each other, screamed or spoke loudly enough for "zombies" to hear them constantly, and overall, basically nothing extraordinary happened for 8 long hours. Every episode had the same format, which only made it even more boring to watch. The narrator is so useless, it would've been better to not have one, since it only stated the obvious every single time. Something happens. Narrator : this happened. WOW NO FREAKING WAY THANKS FOR TELLING ME, CAPTAIN OBVIOUS!?

Then there's the guy who won't stop laughing in every serious / "dangerous" situation, that just killed the immersion for me. Don't get me wrong, breaking character can be funny, but when it happens every episode, it gets old really quickly.

Anyway, for what it's worth, I think any show where the contestants have to deal with zombies and they have no way to kill or stop them is doomed to fail from the start, unless the set was designed properly and instructions / hints were given to the cast. Because obviously, when in danger you enter fight or flight mode; you try to escape, or fight. But all they could do here really was flee, since they weren't real zombies and they were probably told not to hurt them.

Also, basically the entirety of the training episode was pointless since they never used the moves to take down zombies.. so what was the point of that training arc? (yeah, learning to shoot potatoes, to save a girl.. I'm sure this wasn't scripted at all).

Anyway, that's how I felt about this show/drama. Couldn't enjoy it. Oh, and that ending was honestly the cringiest thing I've ever witnessed, ever, like what in the actual fuck? I'm going to have nightmares about it.

anyone know what's the age gap between the leads in the show?
It's never mentioned explicitly, but probably 5 years at least is my guess

Review Hierarchy Spoiler
Can't relate more to your thoughts and review. It felt like an absolute chore to watch, I've never seen actors act this badly in a while, especially Jae-i.. always the exact same emotionless face, wether she's happy, frustrated, sad or mad.. if anything, props to her for being able to cry without us knowing whether she's happy or sad lmao.

Review Castaway Diva
I've watched this drama recently and I absolutely loved it, which I did not expect when getting into it. I think I had tears in my eyes every episode.. I was impressed by the fact that Park Eunbin actually sang most of the songs.. "Someday", "Until The End" and "Dream Us" being my favorites. I have even more respect for her as an artist after watching Castaway Diva..

Thank you for the great review! Love that you included some quotes in there

With all the hate I see this show getting, I couldn't help myself, but leave this comment here. I've just watched…
IMO it was definitely the most entertaining season so far, even if there were less games/challenges in "Inferno". I have watched and enjoyed both previous seasons, my favorite being season 2 so far. I hope they'll keep improving and finding great people to cast in the future, I actually love watching this show for the entertainment value it provides me ^^

Hypothesizing to advance science and making assumptions about a person's cause of death are two entirely different things... I get your point but.. okay..

Man this series is so good.
Every actor/actress is believable in their role.
The production, the music, the emotions...
Just.. a masterpiece.
I'm sincerely hoping they don't mess up the ending.

At first, it looks like the episodes are standalones and unrelated, but the more you progress through them, the more it makes sense (somewhat). I have to admit that there is a lot of missing information or voids that the viewer has to fill in with educated guesses or assumptions, in order to fully make sense of the plot.

Personally, I found the story/plot to be more interesting than the acting/production side of this short series. Being an avid horror/gore movies/series watcher, I was not scared at all by any of the wannabe jumpscares. There was never enough suspense or build up for me to get tense and wonder what was going to happen and actually get scared, and that's most likely due to the length of the episodes. Also, the jumpscares were predictable. I don't know if that's due to my experience with this perticular genre or not, but yeah, I honestly almost laughed at their poor execution and how predictable they were.

The acting was decent but the special effects weren't up to par with the actors' performances, hindering on my viewing experience.. there was nothing really impressive or worth mentioning that I hadn't seen before.

All in all, it's short and sweet, so I didn't mind it.

Honestly, not that surprising of an ending. Reading the comments made me think this drama didn't have any consistency and just randomly threw plot twists here and there.. but it wasn't the case. Anyway, that's my opinion.

Overall, pretty decent series (all 16 eps) IMHO, it managed to make me laugh, tear up and shed a few, so I guess I could see myself in some events that took place and understand the characters' feelings and the reasons for their actions, which is part of the reason I'm truly not displeased nor surprised by how it unfolded in the end.

i haven't watched it yet, so i wanna ask, did the show end in cliffhanger or what?
Like other people have said in comments below, the season was planned with a sequel in mind, and the ending really shows that. I don't want to spoil anything.. it's still an amazing series, like I said. It's definitely worth the watch. It's just annoying not to have that feeling of completion and satisfaction after watching it, lol

If it wasn't for the ending, I would've given it a perfect score. The series has everything I look for in an action drama, I just want to see how they conclude it.

The setup is already there.. no need for a full 16 episode season 2, just a special episode/movie would be more than enough to wrap everything up, in my opinion.

You're missing my point here.

It's one thing to keep the general subject of suicide taboo, and I agree it should not be a taboo subject.

It's an entirely different thing to speculate about the cause of death of an actress when the family literally requested "to please refrain from spreading speculative reports and rumors".

As one of my teachers once told me, "never make assumptions!"

Why is it fine to report that an accident or murder led to a death, but not suicide? Is it something shameful…
Depends on the culture I imagine, but in general, suicide is a taboo subject. Some cultural changes would need to happen in order to change that fact, and it's not likely to happen quickly

Very sad when a beautiful young life is cut short. When no cause of death is given people will make assumptions,…
