Thanks for everyone’s insights. it makes a lot to sense seeing it from GYX’s perspective. the good thing is the 6th prince is safe from the palace politics now - though I really hated how the emperor hurt the little boy.

Anyone else shocked when 6th Prince got wounded by the Emperor and Yanxi just walked past the little Prince without even helping him? I was a bit disappointed by that.

Yes! impressed with how she’s portraying ShaoYao without being cringey. her innocence is very believable. I think she’s improved on her acting in MJTY.

In one of the scenes, Grandma explains she didn’t like the Song son in law but her daughter insisted on marrying him anyway. she wasn’t forced into an arranged marriage. her sense of entitlement stems from being spoilt and sheltered from a young age. of course she doesn’t deserve to be beaten but her character likes to be the victim with everyone else to blame for her actions.

I’m looking forward to more episodes tonight to see their relationship develop!

same! just give me more family dynamics, more examples of how the main leads conquer each obstacle and those bad ass fighting moves from Yan xi

Binge watched to episode 20. now I’m glad I can sleep at normal hours again by watching the episodes as it’s released lol. This is such an easy and addictive watch. no annoying tropes, long drawn out misunderstandings. these leads actually talk to each other - how refreshing!

Does anyone know if the Chinese novel this drama is based on has been translated to English?

yes I really enjoyed this drama! funny, heartwarming. I tried that winter the wind blows but it was too much melodrama and I wasn’t in the mood for it. ended up dropping but not a reflection on the drama, just wanted something lighthearted.

Why did I start this last night?! binge watched til early hours. This is such an addictive watch. wish I waited til all the episodes dropped so I can watch in 1 sitting lol. Loving the ML - swoon…

Had high hopes for this drama but the plot and silly business talk is boring me. I think they like each other but the gas lighting from ML is juvenile and the FL acting like a teen when she’s supposed to be an acclaimed journalist is off-putting. Dropping this and jumping over to Bai Lu’s other drama which has more plot and emotional intelligence.

I’ve discovered this gem after watching Moving and wanted to see more of Jo In Sung. Binged 5 episodes last night and can’t believe I waited so long to watch this. I’m sad he didn’t make many dramas through the years. After this one, I’ve queued up ‘That winter the wind blows’. It will be a Jo In Sung marathon 😅

Binged first 10 episodes and now so bleary-eyed. so refreshing to watch a romance that has real chemistry and adult conversations. Elvis is killing it with the smexy flirty but still decent-guy vibes. even though I don’t understand all the motivations behind the FL, it reflect real life. she has some self awareness but she also carries baggage. she wants love but doesn’t want to get hurt. the guy has some maturing to do too. so addictive to watch the growth.

yes she did ask if he had sex. I was shocked too when I heard it. emotional outburst aside, it was quite unnecessary.
