Good actors and good costumes keep this drama watchable. The plot is very slow, the conversations are too long, many of them very boring. Some scenes are ridiculous (not sure whether it is directly transferred from the novel, or it is scriptwriters bad work), simply not at all realistic. However amazing charm of Wu Lei and sweet Zhao LuSi will make the drama successful.
I like so much the FL for first time in a chinese drama both as a female character and as acting. Great done Victoria Song! So far no overacting, no immaturity (as usually in chinese dramaland). Very good fighting skills and adequate behavior. MLs are amazing too.

The Emperor and his first eunuch, Xin ZiYan, Gu NanYi, Ning Cheng, Chang ZhongXin and the Lord of Minhai - all of them were soo impressive! However the plot is a mess with a lot of holes. Without such incredible actors the drama would be a disaster with this plot. The drama is too long and slow with many unrealistic scenes, that could be cut. The drama would be very good 40-45 episodes instead of 70. Also there were a lot of minor characters, who do not bring value and quality, but only confusion - thus they could be cut at all too. The end has some ambiguity. The female lead looks too lively vital and energetic to commit suicide. And also ... after so many people sacrificing themselves for her such end looks a bit unbalanced.
We do not question ZLY acting, we are discussing the drama. Many of the comments are for her because she is the center of the drama. Both FL leads Fei and ChuChu have very good chemistry together and compliment each other. However there are weak points and every viewer has right to express opinion. When ZLY gave birth and her other roles are not relevant points for "Legends of Fei" discussion. *** ... the music is amazing, especially the opening theme.
