Am I the only one who laughs every time they yell “stop” at the bad guy from a mile away instead of discreetly approaching them? They are basically telling them to run. I mean, who would stop when the person chasing you is that far away? 😂😂 Otherwise, I enjoyed this season, especially the storylines that barely involved the Emperor or Grand Princess. Looking forward to the next one, hopefully we don’t have to wait long.

Hoping that he takes on dramas that have well written script like The Double. His recent dramas are just watchable, but I find myself getting frustrated with unlikeable characters. 😟

Hey, just saw your post—haven’t logged on in a while. Did you end up watching it? I’m actually into wuxia and all that, and I know it’s not meant to be super realistic, but the flying scenes really threw me off. They looked like low-budget superhero stuff from the ’90s I grew up with. It is possible that the story may have made up for it, but I just couldn’t get past the fakeness.

This is actually the exact thing that is frustrating me. She is just getting on my nerves. Also, I’m at episode 10 currently and I think Gu Zhen is in love with her. The way he acts, that over protectiveness is making me think that is why he and her sister broke up. Yikes!

Must be a record for me. I had to stop at the 10 minutes mark. I was not sure if I should laugh with how bad the “flying” was. I guess this aired in 2018, but I don’t think I will be able to watch if the rest of the martial arts are this bad.

Okay, I decided to stick with it a for a couple more episodes and I’m glad I did. Towards the end of the case that involved episode 13 was a good turning point. The leads have become so much better around that time and the cases after that. Just sharing this in case you want to give it one more shot.

I’m at episode 10 and having a hard time staying engaged either. I keep finding myself skipping because the main lead is just being too annoyingly preachy on his high horse. Usually its just the female lead that annoys me, but on this drama so far both equally annoys me. Are either of them going to get better? I usually like smart leads, which I think the leads are in this drama, but they are all too overly & annoyingly dramatic that it is getting on my nerves.

I keep trying to find a prequel or sequel that is on par with how great Ultimate Note was and this one came close, but still fell short. There were glaring plot holes everywhere that didn’t seem to make sense. Some things felt like it was there just to fill time… While not as boring as some of the others, definitely still far behind Ultimate Note. I’m a bit disappointed because I was looking forward to it. I also liked Reunion more than this. Overall, drama is a good watch, just a bit disappointed that it didn’t live up to what I was hoping for.

Thanks! I guess I will pass on this. Too bad, I think the fight scenes were good, but I just cannot stand the new guy. My blood boils every time he appears.

Is the new guy going to get better? I’m at ep 3 and he is just getting on my last nerve to the point that I keep stopping and watching something else. I’ve been trying to finish episode 3 for the last few weeks now but every time I see him, I end up stopping. It seems like he is being used for comedy but his take just feels stupid to me and not funny.

Wow! I was so excited to find that there was a Korean remake, but man, I don’t know how they could have done any more injustice to the cast and plot than they did in this drama. Whoever the writer of this remake was, he should not be writing crime dramas for the rest of his career. He made these great profilers act and think like newbie cops just out of police academy making them utterly pathetic.

The basic premise of this drama is good, its my cup of tea. Unfortunately, the execution relies too heavily on the characters making random decisions or doing things that you would not expect any sane person to do given the particular situation they are in at that given time. I’ve lost count on how many ridiculous situations the writer has suddenly made the characters do something just to have some sort of “discovery”. I think they call this “plot hole”. How many times do we need to have a very convenient “picture” fall to the floor just to be discovered by either party done in the name of moving the storyline forward.

Nonetheless, its not a bad drama if you just need something to watch to waste time during quarantine.
