Point 4 might not make any sense. Novel readers or drama watchers feel free to correct me if this would be implausible lol. I've rewatched the dream arc a ton but not the rest yet.
1. Was expecting a battle scene between Tantai Jin and Li Susu to mirror the first episode but sshe's more powered up or something. 2. thought the final wedding was a little bit extra tbh 3. I hate the poison porridge misunderstanding but maybe i'm suppose to hate it idk how i fee lol 4. Bc a lot of the focus of the show is TTJ fighting his "destiny" of evil roots I would have loved if Li Susu struggled with the opposite more. The fact that she's an immortal who comes to the "human realm" and then becomes tainted or something. YXW was explained to be the "evil" parts of Li Susu that they just kinda throw that in at the end. When she first went to the past with the mirror she should've struggled more with this evil part of her. Like YXW taking over or memories blurring or something. Then Ji Ze saying "remember why you came" to LSS in the Bo're life arc would make more sense. And when her body is destroyed during the lightning punishment due to the World Overturning Jade- this could have stopped whatever she needed to have a "pure divine body" that she had in the original and then when she returns to the new timeline (future) after the exchange with TTJ she has trouble with holding the devil bone.
And then somehow incorporate TTJ taking her love thread or something to force her to use the heartless way to turn to godhood. I was really expecting the love thread to make another appearance. I mean it would be terrible if he did but imagine the possibilities lol. Then the sql could be LSS loses the love thread and is evil (he thought she'd be immortal) and TTJ using the mirror of the past to start the whole dang thing all over again (elmo on fire gif). IGNORE THIS PARAGRAPH I'M RAMBLING NOW.
These are just some things that would have tied together the story a little more for me but I still love this show so much.

The fact that Luo Yunxi believably portrayed all iterations of Tantai Jin is such a feat. The character is so complex and extreme and emotional and wild but LYX has such an awareness of his eyes, face, body, and voice that I was so captivated. He's a star. The show felt so tangled but because everyone did their part well it was a hot mess (in the best way) and not just a mess.
The music and outfits are iconic and the amount of extreme character portrayal was exciting. The dream arc remains my favorite with Mingye and Sangjiu. Everything is unbelievably upsetting and tear inducing but it's a drama-give me all the drama. Things seem kinda wrapped up in the end so I don't know what they'll do if they have a sequel. I don't think I'd like a memory loss TTJ (shell lol) and if you've seen Bailu's show, One and Only (a masterpiece!), you might already be aware of the sequel, Forever and Ever. I didn't like the tone change there and also it became modern and wasn't feeling it. Hope they don't do that here.
I have some issue with the second half: too many flashbacks, too much standing dialogue to tell us what is happening, and they didn't fully utilize Ye Xiwu in my opinion. Bailu nailed all her characters and she did the best with what they gave her but you could tell they put a little more effort in crafting the ML. I add my reasoning in the spoiler below:
I read the whole thing, I agree, a lot of her actions are exaggerated. ( which was annoying, I don’t get why…
I read some of it and I'm also kinda worried. The FL was kinda.. It was a confusing read bc sure you could put these two ppl together but nothing really convinced me that they liked one another because the plot and actions and reasonings behind things were such odd choices. I love bailu and WHD seems really funny/charismatic/sweet from the variety clips I've seen of him. I'm trusting their judgement and also the director is the same as bailu's drama One and Only which was a MASTERPIECE so I think maybe it can be salvaged. I could see scenario a) where ML keeps reluctantly helping FL and them falling for each other (he's aware of what her intentions are the whole time and it's more mutual..) or b) he figures out he's being used really early and keeps clowning her to fan the flames of her lies to make embarrassing things happen until she has to come clean early which could be funny if done well. Bailu's drama Love is Sweet with Luo Yunxi was another office drama and was saved due to their chemsitry (the plot was bleh). How are they going to make this different than that office drama? idk the novel also had a lot of petty women bickering. I don't want to leave work and then watch a drama filled with stressful work and women fighting which is why I prefer xianxia. Will be watching this for lulu tho!
