Heartbreaking, Brilliant, and Criminally Underrated
Damn, this drama ate. The storyline is so sad — especially An Zhen Zhen’s story. She might just be a character in Jiang Lin's novel (maybe, because that’s what the drama is about), but she feels so real. Honestly, she’s probably the most stressed female lead I’ve ever seen. Imagine going through all those miserable events in her life… her storyline hit me hard. It even made me cry.
This is the first time I’ve loved this kind of FL. Normally, in some dramas, I’d be yelling at my screen like, “Kill that b!tch!” — but here, I didn’t feel that way at all. I felt like I was her. I can’t explain it, but I love this kind of concept.
It did confuse me in the middle episodes, but once I finished it, everything made sense. At first, I thought it would just be a normal sci-fi youth drama because of the poster… but nope. The poster was a prank, hahaha. This was stressful to watch, but in the best way.
Finally, a drama that explains the life of a side character. And the fact that it’s villain-free made it even more interesting. YR and HJJ absolutely killed their roles — they’re so underrated it hurts. This drama deserves way more recognition.
