Before I start watching, could someone spoil me please: is there any cheating /romance between main and side character?

ML hated his own father for manipulating the concubine to harm his beloved mother, but remained loyal to his uncle who constantly hurt his love? It didn't really fit together in my eyes... I would have liked it better if ML had taken a bit more initiative in this matter

My favorite part was the romance between ShaoYao (ML's sister) and Shen Huan ❤️

As for the plot, there was one thing I didn't quite understand (see spoilers below, please)

No matter what I try to watch, I always end up here. But actually that's totally fine with me because it's kind of a healing drama for me now (my glimmer of hope, the light in the darkness compared to the endless mass of dramas that only use already known plots, bad actors, have no chemistry,…) 🥲

I accidentally stumbled upon what happened while searching for cgi moments. It’s outrageous to do something like they did in times where cgi IS a thing.. in my opinion, as a penalty, the drama should’ve been banned

In my opinion, Taikan Yoho has the best NC scenes (at least in combination with a good plot) 😂❤️ If your looking for alternatives (concerning nc scenes), my advice would be: don’t look at japanese bls (they sometimes don’t even have kisses…).
There are many Thai bls with very 🔥 scenes, but they may have a somewhat mediocre plot (e.g. Playboyy, Bed friend, only friends,...) . My personal favorite Thai bl would be kinnporsche.
Then there is the second couple from history 4: Close to you (Taiwanese bl)

TLOSL stands out partly because it doesn't follow these overused tropes.... But looking at the mass of Xianxias using them, I'm afraid we'll have to wait a long time to see something like TLOSL again 🥲 But my hope will be the last thing to die (which is also why I'll never give up waiting for a side story about SL's father)

Then you better watch some BTS or start to rewatch the drama 😉❤️

I was hooked with ep 1. The characters (their personalities and especially their little quirks)and the chemistry between them just immediately took a hold on me. While the setting changes later on, the characters stay the same, so maybe it’s really just not your cup of tea.

But I don’t get why he does it again to the parrot, if he regrets doing it to SL? (I mean muting it is pretty humiliating, too. And forgetting /not caring to free it (letting it starve),too) 🤔 And after SLs experience, she had even more reasons to treat it better?
