1. The complexity of the characters; even the villain has a personality. There is a backstory for everyone. 2. The way revenge was planned was so meticulous. He was always in control. (My other fav drama in this sense is K-drama: The Glory (2022)) 3. He is not a bad person; even when his revenge is everything to him, he doesn't let go of his humanity for that. 4. The story is so perfectly written: no superficial characters, no loopholes. 5. From the start of the show, it makes viewers so invested; you have to remember characters, think about their background, so many details.
I love this type of drama; other than this one, I only got this kind of satisfaction from The Glory (2022). It was in a different setting, but very much like this.

Okay, so I have been watching C-dramas for years now, but I have never been into historical ones. I recently watched LLTG and got into this world. When I started this, I thought it was too slow; why is nothing happening? DO SOMETHING!!! But as the show progressed... it got deeper and deeper, complex, fast, exciting. My patience paid off; I would have missed such an amazing drama. Everyone has a personality; no one is bland or dumb here. I love this show and recommend it to people with a little patience; your patience will be rewarded.
