I'm not really sure as I don't watch those kind of dramas. I think student teacher relationships are creepy. As to whether an actor is taken seriously or not for those type of dramas I'm not sure but the reactions for those type of dramas are always divided.

many people dislike Jerry Yan because he way too old for these type of dramas and roles. He gets a lot of criticism in the entertainment industry. I don't understand why he continues to take on these roles cause it makes him look like a creep. He heavily relies on his fame from his younger days. And the fact that he keeps doing the same thing over and over again seems like he doesn't care about his acting career. That's just my personal opinion on him though.

it honestly depends on the actor or actress themselves not really the type of drama they do. love - dubby romance dramas are very popular amongst younger audiences. These type of dramas can be breakout roles for young actors and make them famous. whether an actor or actress is taken seriously with these type of dramas honestly depends on the actors experience and how long they have been in the industry.

Majority of the actors doing these type of dramas lack experience and are young but every actor and actress has to start somewhere.

If you are an actor or actress who's been in the industry for 10 years and your still doing these type of dramas obviously you won't be taken seriously.

In this situation Shen Yue gets a lot of backlash due to her background, appearance and lack of experience. Shen Yue was scouted and has no training experience in the acting field. She continues to do these type of dramas cause that's what made her famous. Shen Yue has only been in the industry for 3 years. She still has many years ahead of her to gain experience and skills.
