Exactly. The law is kinda messy in korea and it's not just self-defense laws...
But for self-defense cases, I remember there being this controversial case in korea where basically person A was strangling person B. So person B in self-defense stabbed person A in the thigh. Unfortunately, person b got charged with causing bodily injury...
