I think your expectations were too high, lol! I mean Bad Buddy and Not Me really set a new standard. Those kisses are legendary. Not Me didn't have much build up either, though. But Bad Buddy ... I mean, come on! Nothing can top that. The build up, the emotions, the music, the acting, the kiss!

Ep 4 will bring more whiplash, lol. Seems there is a scene where Porsche gets sexually assaulted? I have no idea where this story is even going at this point. I feel like this series could have been such a masterpiece if they were more serious. They have some nice places to shoot, they have good actors with good chemistry, some of the writing isn't that bad. But then they insert so much filler scenes, get off track ... I don't know. A more condensed story told more straightforward with better filming and better transitioning between scenes would have been great. I still enjoy the ride. We will see.

"There is so much lust and strong attraction in the novel" I don't doubt that. But good writing needs a good background, good characters, a good plot that makes sense and where everything comes together while the characters fit perfectly well in their world, have their roles and purpose. The whole mafia theme isn't convincing at this point. Mostly because those guys seem to silly. But I'm willing to change my mind. Such popular BL stories most of the time only concentrate on the characters and their interactions like everything else in the background just seems to be there to push the characters and their love story forward.

I wanted to drop the series after Ep 2. So that I'm still here really means I'm "forgiving". I felt like they would kiss even before they did it. The atmosphere, the looks they gave each other, the music, the talk. They were both drunk, Porsche much more than Kinn. It was just the mood. And we all know Kinn is attracted to Porsche. We have seen it already. Sooooo ... really, I have no complains. It was a beautiful scene. Of course it wasn't a kiss like we got in Bad Buddy where we had a build up of 5 episodes and an incredible tension that cumulated in that great kiss with so much emotions and longing. But yeah ... different story. I'm not mad about how they did it.

I get the feeling this series is based on a PWP (porn without plot) novel. From what I have heard KinnPorsche seems to be your typical trashy story that got successful becaue it is exactly that: trash. So I guess whoever wrote the script for the series didn't have much good material to start with.
Talking abou the series: I also felt they did a great job in Ep 1. Some things weren't smooth, but the overall tone and seriousness, the action, the sexyness, the more mature content - I loved it.
Ep 2 was a disappointment. They made the mafia look like a boys military camp with too much silly gayness. That Tankhun characters is over the top. Normally I'm not bothered by such comedy, but it doesn't fit the overall theme. Both main characters seemed boring with Kinn being too nice and soft and Porsche being too dumb.
Ep 3 brought my interest back, though. While those scenes with Tankhun were completely unnecessary and dragged out for no reason, the more serious and emotional scenes were done very well. I also don't feel the end was rushed. There was a lot of build up. Both Apo and Mile did a terrific job. They were able to make me forget all that sillyness I had to endure before.
To sum it up: They need a better guy to edit the series. Cut out all that unnecessary stuff, and make the story more consistent. But I like where the story is going. Porsche doesn't seem so dumb anymore. I also like that they are going for a softer less hardcore approach between Kinn and Porsche. The love seems pretty soft. I expected something else, but I don't hate it as long as it doesn't get too cheesy.
I feel like this will be a candidate for the award of "Wasted Potential" like Manner Of Death, where they had the opportunity to present a psychological thriller, but instead we got a soap opera.
I'm not giving up hope, but no wonder the rating isn't higher. In Ep 1 Kinn appeared rather fierce and mysterious, in Ep 2 I got the feeling he is just a nice guy who tries to act tough. In Ep 1 Porsche was very sexy, strong, bold and a bit sly. Though it was strange that he lost in a fight against Kinn. Who needs a bodyguard that's weaker than you? Still we got a top/top situation. We had a draw. Two strong character who may mistrust each other, but then slowly fall in love. What will happen when they clash emotionally and physically? The potential was endless. But then we learned in Ep 2 that Porsche is rather dumb. So now we have a draw again. It's bottom/bottom this time. Sigh. It seems like this is a rather generic, cheesy BL just with a mafia background to make it more "edgy" and appealing. The humor is sometimes out of place. And everyone behaving like they have a great time being in the mafia that seems more like a funny military camp for gay people where they can do some flirting and being extra. Compare this to the Japanese manga Saezuru where also lots of gayness and gay sex is happening, but it still feels serious and intense on a psychological level despite the occasional humor.

Yeah, yeah, always the same. People complain about lack of skin ship, they must be thirsty for sex scenes! Yeah! What other reason could there be? I could say easily you don't care about a realistic portrayal of gay relationships and are only watching this series because of the good looking guys.
