Never really liked Arthur Chen or any of his previous works. But he really impressed me in this one. The way he gazes at ting yan makes my heart melt everytime. He portrayed the role of Sima jiao so perfectly. This drama is also so full of sweetness and love that spans despite it being a xianxia drama that are known for bitter plots. Wang ying lu also ate in this one. Arthur and her have such great chemistry in this. 9/10. Very much recommended especially if you are a romance lover.

im curious about this too. this drama used to be listed for 50 episodes. however, it definitely had to be cut down as it is not allowed to surpass the 40 episode limit. i was expecting each episode to be at least 50 mins from the cut, but strangely most of the episodes are barely even 40 minutes long. they must have cut a lot.... sad:(
I get that most of us do not feel the romance between the two leads, but it is clear that there IS romance in this drama as we can tell from HY being upset thinking that Yunxi used her. Well personally for me, the chemistry is there but it is not very strong.
I read some comments talking about how they felt zero chemistry and I would say they would most likely feel that way up till the end as I do not think the remaining 5 episodes will be enough to build up anything more. (there is still so many things unresolved, leaving lesser screen time for our leads to have meaningful conversations that'll build it up)

I thought the same only around the start... up to ep 25 he seems to be slightly more expressive but nothing out of the extraordinary acting like the other main casts, which does in fact do not make him stand out but I do find his action scenes very well acted, on the brighter side.
