The way the romance is carried out and acted by the two leads is generally good but the kissing/hugging scenes are so embarrassing and cringy for me. Good show regardless and well-acted but the chemistry is so off.
Why are so many Korean Idols doing BL lately? Anyone knows? coz I've got a problem.Fu**cking Angle/camera/fake/…
I agree that casting idols leads to more LIMITATIONS but why would you assume the individual has the power to direct their kiss to supposedly preserve their reputation and bc they don't want to kiss for real? Maybe their label said otherwise or the director thought that was what they should go with. All parties could've agreed with this and it doesn't necessarily boil down to the decision of one individual.
Zuho not only defended queer community but genuinely got annoyed/angry that people were being homophobic. Also he is established enough that he doesn't need this like some smaller idols do for money and fame.
There's dead fish kiss in other BLs without idol actors. There's freaking dead fish kiss in mainstream K-drama with straight couples. Sometimes kissing just f*cking sucks.
The song in the show is certainly not reflective of all Kpop in general, and I don't know why you felt like going…
I'll just name some iconic songs as example: Sixth Sense (Brown Eyed Girls), Fiction (Beast), Mirotic (TVXQ), Growl (EXO), Decalcomanie (Mamamoo), Aju Nice (Seventeen), Bad Boy (Red Velvet), Shangri-La (VIXX), One Shot (B.A.P), Rough (GFriend). Are they all robotic, poor quality, with bad vocals?
It is a pop music industry. No one is expecting groundbreaking experimental music, just enjoyable and well-crafted pop songs, and there is plenty of merit to that.
MAGGI'S OLD PERSON'S RANT ON THE IDOL'S SONGThe song the idol sang at the bar sounded as if it had been composed…
The song in the show is certainly not reflective of all Kpop in general, and I don't know why you felt like going on a rant about Kpop simply because you felt that the song in the show is bad. Educate yourself- or don't, that's your prerogative, but don't spread false narratives when you are not familiar with yet clearly have negative bias toward something.
Also synthesized instruments and electronic music is a completely valid form of expression as well, so there is no need to look down on that.
Great, compelling show. The epilogue of the past broke my heart. To think of what their lives could have been like if they didn't have to deal with bullies...
And really what teenagers are good at expressing their emotions (or even knowing their own emotions)
Exactly! these are kids growing up and realising how to deal with their emotions and how their actions affect others. It's been a minute and a half since I've been a teenager so sometimes I feel characters are immature, but then I remember their age...
It gives me classic coming-of-age vibes. Would be really nice once it all comes out and you can watch it like a movie.
It seems like a lot of fighting bc there's limited time to each episode and we're only really zoning in on their fights, but tbh if the gaps are filled their friendship is fine, it's just going through a rough patch with recent conflicts right now. There's still a lot of care and understanding when it comes to each other's familial situation or personality, even if it's not always well-expressed.
Career-ending my a** they are top-tier actresses and if anything, are safer than an average actor. It's not like they would be coming out as lesbian, it would just be playing a fictional LGBTQ role... Seriously, don't be exaggerative.
Younghoon very much has a classic handsome actor face, and the historical drama angle just makes sense ever since I saw him in this video of The Boyz, Be Your Own King: https://youtu.be/IYo55ma5PaY?t=117
Really enjoyable. Though I gotta say some of the decisions for transitions were meh. There were scenes that felt disjointed or shifted oddly to the next. But all in all it's 10 eps of ~35min and good content so I can't complain. The bar just moved up higher.
This comment section's passionate discussions are possibly even more humorous than the show
