Hee Su and Seung Won's story suffered from underdevelopment as a consequence of the episode count and the disproportionate…
I agree with you on the straight couple. I think that this show could have done so much better without the including the unnecessary storylines involving Chanyeong and Jiyu. As for the kiss, I just meant that I don't think this is a drama that necessitates a kiss to show the progression of their relationship because their relationship is already portrayed through their shared moments and emotions. Of course they could have included a kiss in a way that suited the tone of the drama. I don't think kissing and exploring what relationships have to offer is inappropriate for teens. The addition of a kiss wouldn't hurt. I just meant that I don't think it is necessary because they are already able to express their feelings in different ways.
While this drama does have its flaws, I can't help but love it because of the portrayal of Heesu and Seungwon. I've read the manhwa and while I agree that they deviated from the original plot with the addition of the straight couple, I think that they still preserved Heesu and Seungwon's relationship. Ji Ho, Sang Jun and the writers captured their dynamic especially well considering that this is only a ten episode drama. I think that they included many moments to develop their playful and innocent love that reflect the same tone that was developed in the manhwa (despite the fact that the drama is very different otherwise).
Honestly, the straight couple does bore me a bit -- the addition was unnecessary and I wish they had focused on Chanyeong's relationship with Heesu instead. In the manhwa Chanyeong seemed to care a lot more for him and they included an arc that dealt with Heesu's fading feelings. But overall I think that the relationship between Heesu and Seungwon is the most important and they do have most of the screen time.
Also, I don't think that a kiss scene is necessary at all for this drama. I've seen many people complaining about this. This is a coming of age story and it is a first relationship for the both of them. I don't think it is odd at all if they don't decide to include a kiss, especially since the entire vibe of the drama is so youthful and innocent.
this was not what I was expecting when I opened my phone I guess I should just expect less from korean men and the industry that enables their disgusting behavior
