A Fun Ride That Needed More Drama
As of today, I’m still scratching my head over why this series is rated so highly on MDL. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a fun watch, and I love that it gives us multiple couples with different dynamics, but the storytelling just felt like it was missing something essential: real conflict. When you’re building a drama that spans several years of college life, from freshmen to seniors, you’d expect at least a few relationship struggles or challenges that feel a little more grounded. Instead, a lot of the plots just floated along, and I found myself wishing for some actual tension or drama to keep me hooked. If they had added that layer, I’d easily have given this series more stars across all platforms.Another thing is the sheer number of characters. With so many couples, side characters, and overlapping storylines, I honestly lost track of who was who at times. Maybe that’s partly on me for skipping through some parts (yes, I admit I fast-forwarded the PondSand couple a little, sorry not sorry, lol), but still, it got confusing.
Now, the real highlight for me was definitely Faifa and Wine (a.k.a. Junior and Mark’s couple). Their storyline felt the most engaging out of all the pairings, and I can see why the creators saved them for the end. Faifa’s complex relationship with his brother Yotha, who’s also paired with Gun, gave his arc extra depth. That made his story the perfect way to close the series. Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of Junior as an actor, but Mark carried the couple for me. I first noticed their chemistry back in Midnight Museum, so seeing them “shipped” here was super exciting. If it weren’t for FaifaWine, I probably would have dropped this show halfway through. They really carried the emotional weight and gave the series its best moments.
On the flip side, I have to say I’m over the ArmArc couple. I know they’re supposed to be central, but their storyline just dragged on and felt repetitive compared to others. Faifa deserved way more screen time than what we got. He was such an intriguing character, outwardly the bubbly social butterfly, but underneath he’s actually guarded and kind of broken. That duality made him the most layered character in the whole drama, and I wish the writers leaned into that even more.
Looking ahead, I could actually see this show continuing with another season. There’s definitely potential for at least another 24 episodes if they keep introducing new couples and dynamics. But here’s my one big plea: please, please give us more relationship conflicts. Sweet moments and fluff are great, but conflict is what makes us root for couples, cry with them, and celebrate when they finally overcome obstacles. Without that, the storylines just don’t stick.

My top 3 of 2024!
I have to admit, this is easily one of the best Korean BLs I’ve ever watched. And that’s saying a lot, because most KBLs lean into the same cheesy, lovey-dovey tropes. This series? Totally different. It didn’t feel like a fantasy or a sugar-coated romance, it felt raw, real, and honestly a little painful at times. I even had to double-check that it was really Korean because I’ve never seen this kind of vibe from the genre before. What stood out most was how unapologetically honest it was about identity, family, and love. Ko Yeong’s struggles hit me hard, the push-and-pull between wanting acceptance and dealing with rejection, the complicated love he had for his mom, and the heartbreak of chasing connections that weren’t always right for him. His love stories weren’t just about who gets the happy ending, but about timing, growth, and the scars we carry. Nam Gyu was the “what if,” Youngso was the betrayal that cuts deep, and Gyu Ho… he was the one that felt like home. Watching those relationships unfold felt messy but so beautifully human.
I also loved how Mi Ae (his roommate) became such an important part of the story. She shows what chosen family really means, sometimes the people who stand by you aren’t blood relatives, but the ones who choose to be there when you need them most.
And seriously, the acting? Next level. Every emotion came through so raw that I forgot I was watching fiction. The cinematography and narration gave it this moody, introspective vibe that made me feel like I was living the story with him.
This isn’t your typical BL, it’s not about fluff, it’s about feeling everything. Messy, heartbreaking, hopeful. Easily one of the most powerful shows I’ve seen in the genre.

How many episodes did I cry? I don't even remember, for sure more than 3 episodes of this series succeed make me shed my tears. But yeah, that's enough. There were a lot of ambiguity that makes me unable to give more stars to this series. I like seeing them together, I fell in love with their acting but I felt the story revolved around the place with a lack of elaboration of the conflict seems to be the weak point of this series.

Earlier this year, I expected more from KeixYaku that has a similar story, but Thailand packs it more adorable and of course many surprises. Stories about 2 different mafias, or between two opposite professions (such as police vs mafia) are the mainstay themes that I always look forward to every year.
KinnPorsche "only" tells about the romance between the Boss and his Body Guard, as we’ve seen in Golden Blood. However, these two series from the same country have very opposite qualities (like a huge gap). When I first watched KinnPorsche, I actually had my doubts, considering that a lot of people had predicted this series since the beginning of the pandemic. Of course my concerns are justified, remembering what happened with TarnType 2 back in 2020.
But again KinnPorsche offers a breath of fresh air. With an unusual story flavor coupled with a side couples were able to get more attention (at least mine). And the finale episode made my emotions go up and down, although in the end this series was able to make me smile widely until the last second.
The problem is, I feel like this series hasn’t finished yet. Many secrets still being uncovered, especially the riddles of Mr. Korn and (of course) his (big) family. Plus the love stories of Kim-Porschay and Vegas-Pete which made me hanging. I need another season!!!! 😭😭😭

With the mental readiness to watch this series one by one every episode, I almost completely fell in love with this series. No doubt this series has a vibe that reminds me of My Love Mixed up, which is fun-hilarious-funny and (of course) silly.
Japanese series always make me smile every time I watch them, this one is deserves more stars actually 🥺
In Indonesian:
Tak ayal series ini vibenya mengingatkanku sama My Love Mixed up, yakni fun-hilarious-funny and (of course) silly.
Japanese series selalu buat saya sumringah setiap habis menontonnya!

Fandy helped this series more interesting with his great performance, even I had a doubt at first about his acting but somehow his characters has the most development. When he became more “serious” about “his love”, the staging developed with a huge quality.
Another point that I gave plus for this show is the music, I kinda like it if we compared with all of soundtracks of History 1, in these sequel the quality of the music are stronger.

The twist that they brought at the end the one that I didn’t expect, I knew at some point there will be a past of him (at least one of them) would come in the middle of their happiness.
I love the chemistry amongst them, so many “flowers” flourished in between. lol
I hardly can’t wait for watching another one!

My problem is, the actor itself I didn’t feel any connection amongst them. If we talked about how good Feng He was, of course He is but when we saw the chemistry with Cheng Qing is quite awful actually.
However, a plus point came from Meng Meng. I always adore a fujoshi that created a story that seems impossible become a real one. A double thumbs for her and certainly her performance!
2 done, more to go! I’ll finish all of the History franchise! woo hoo

Honestly, the story like this wasn’t special and have even existed in several BL films / series, but there is always an unique interest (to me) from the Taiwanese series when it comes to romance like this. 🥺
Throughout this series, I have no idea why but for some reason I always remembered some scenes on Thai series, and I just realized that some of those scenes were actually took (or the subtle language was inspired) from this series.

The series was quite interesting since the very beginning, the meeting of both of characters that quite cliche made me wonder how would the series goes.
Honestly, it’s hard to hold your boner when you’re watching this typical genre, even though there weren’t many scenes that showed sensuality but still the way how He described about anything made my mind went out.
I thought I’m gonna watch the sequel. hm

It kinda funny actually seeing both teachers loving each other in a short of a time, my logic said it is impossible but my heart breathing so fast.
Even though I detest of the acting of Akagi but somehow his appearance blow me out with all of his weirdness. lol
Uh. Again, Japanese series made my day every single time.

I had to watch this one! ?
Alright, my 2026 series list starts now. I must admit, I've been waiting for this series to finish for a long time. I just don't like waiting every single week to see the story continue. Another reason was that I haven't finished my 2025 series yet (I still owe a few series, but I just couldn't wait, I had to watch this one! 😭)If you had asked me a couple of years ago, I would have said I felt annoyed with Duang's character. Being silly and childish while courting someone doesn't seem like it would work in real life. However, after watching the first five episodes, I realized there is something interesting about this series that pushed me to finish it on time (right during the week the season finale aired).
I don't really care about the side couple's story (Jamie and Marvis), but I truly appreciate the friendship among the group. It is so strong that it made me think of my two best friends back in college who always came to my room every time I called because there was a cockroach (yeah, I hate them 🤣)
One thing that could have been better was the last episode. I don't think they wrapped the series up properly. You know I hate lovey-dovey moments, right? The last episode had the most skipped scenes for me. Also, I really hope Pae gets a chance to have his own story, as it could provide a better view of why those three are so close.

With this short duration, this show perfectly lifted my mood of korean bl series for the very first time in 2022. I haven’t felt this great since Bad Buddy ended in January.
From my perspective, all of actors really did their job flawlessly good. Even their side characters were beyond than mediocre.
I didn’t expect much of this series on pilot episode, I even thinking to dropped this series early. But the story look right on more interesting than I expected.
However, there are some things that bugged me and affected me to gave this series only for this rate:
First, I really want to see the connection between his sister (Si Yeong) and his friend (Yun Jeong). Second, Is there any story between Ba Woo and Yun Jeong?. And last, I really wish that they solved their last argument more intense than it was. It really feel easy to me and I believe that conflict was more hurtful than it looks.

Not because this series is not worth watching, but if we look at another histories before this, both of them have a huge quality that is far above of this series.
The recurring story about the love affair between siblings, with simple conflicts between the main characters, makes this series seem like a fad.
This series is saved precisely thanks to the professional-looking acting of the main leads, because even from the musical side, this series doesn't seem to have the slightest good side.

I couldn’t even finish every episodes of this season properly, the duration that took way tooo long made me bore easily. Too many cliches things and problems that solved simply made me wonder how stupid the script was.
I didn’t buy any dumb conflicts that showed fatuously.
Oh God, I watched this series satisfactorily after episode Ten. It feels like I was eating a donut, only enjoy on every sides but emptiness in the middle.
