it's the first episode and the editors have already given me a headache-
Thank god I'm not the only one who noticed. That editing and camerawork is just... my eyes can't follow... why is the view jumping around so much? I can't watch this shit.
I love all HIStory stories so far, but this one just ... doesn't grow on me. I'm at episode 6 now and everything is just... meh. I don't like most characters as individuals, let alone as a couple.
I will definitely watch this till the end, hoping for it to get better, because I know how great HIStory can be. Also because of my loyalty to all the series.
If Oat was a girl. he'd be seen as a homewrecker. Crazy how some fujoshis are actually attacking Mo when she's…
That's exactly the reason why I don't like Oat. If I'd been Pop I would have already thrown him in front of a plane for annoying and harrassing me like that. But Pop doesn't have the balls to fight for his girlfriend or for himself (reason why I don't like him either), he's just passively watching shit going down. So that makes me happy Mo doesn't end up with him, she deserves better.
I don't think Oat is actively trying to seperate them from the beginning, he just doesn't have the empathy and is too dumb to understand that he's accidentally doing that. Once he starts liking Pop for real however...
I'm tired of the 'person-who-interferes-between-gays'-cliché. So the other couple's story doesn't work for me either.
Watched up to episode 8 and right now I like Mo best as a character. I feel like I'm watching this only to see her end up with Nick. The BL characters in this series don't pull me in at all. (which is kind of bad for a bl series I might say)
So.. as I watched the 'second season', my rating of this series was steadily dropping from 8.5 to eventually 6.5 where it has stayed out of pure frustration of not wanting it to drop further. And not for the reason of not being accurately following the novel or its BL aspect, but just... everything else. Disappointing acting, ending, story, realism, characters, the development of their relationship(whatever kind of it has now become is still unclear to me).
I love this series. Their relationship made me feel warm and fuzzy, even before becoming lovers. Personally I couldn't find the ending sad(more like, it made me laugh), because it just seemed so unrealistic and so sudden. And with that I mean specifically, the acting and integration of Nuer's dying scene. It just seemed so entirely different in every possible way the series ambiance had been up till that point, that apparently my brain decided not to integrate it into my overview of the story. The acting was strangely different and the deathscene felt 'squished in' to the story like an 'oh by the way, this still needed to be in there' - afterthought. If had been longer, more detailed and serious, it would have integrated better into the story.
What do they mean by extreme violence, example? Do spoil me i just need to know whether it's very graphic.
Depends on your opinion on 'graphic'. There's no innards being thrown around no, but there is rape and a lot of beating up going on, which are quite realistically done imo.
It would be so weird if they make it into 'just brotherly love' after what's aired up till now.
It would also be kind of inconsistent of the Chinese government to allow something like 'A Round Trip to Love' 1 & 2 to be released- which is clearly and utterly by any standards more homosexual than this drama has ever been up till now. (considering all the kisses and more that goes on in ARTTL)
But in the end, I have no idea what the consequences of releasing whatever are for our cast and crew of Advance B, and I just wish for them to be safe and sound. (But I'm gonna be disappointed anyway! I'll just console myself by reading the novel...)

But for now, nope, this one is not for me.

So unfortunately no rewatch for me.
