They've film the whole series but divided it into 2 parts with different title to apply for broadcasting (gov regulations- cannot exceed 40 episodes per drama). P2 should follow right after P1. But recently, an order from gov, all costume drama that have obtain broadcasting license need to be submitted for review, following costume controversy (mimic japanese/korean style ensemble). Let's pray nothing goes wrong.

That is up to viewer's interpretation. To me, the main point is in the very final episode. 1. The mindset of a good ruler. 2. The choice we make between absolute power and the urgency to save love ones. 3. What you make of the little time you have in this world.
Since they adapted the book, they still need to deliver the essence of the book, albeit in a lousy way.
For the bad CG at the end, I just take it as something to laugh at, especially the scene where Xiyun was chasing Huang Chao and change angle mid air. Oman, that was effin funny 🤣. Also, superman Xiyun vs artillery 😅, looks like they just want to wrapped it up and move on to the Realm of Kings asap, so the writer either became lousy and lazy.

Had they ended at ep34, that would only be Who Rules Yongzhou😂

I'm a fan of the book, but it is not feasible for a drama to be heavily focus on war grounds, so I'm glad this drama took a different approach. The main genre is romance, followed by politics and wuxia element, focusing on the relationship between both main leads, and people around them, and their approach in supporting each other. Although the plot centralize on ML throne, FL is there along the journey being a companion and not a sidekick. Taking into account all the controversial affair that happened in the production crew I say they did one hell of a job in completing this drama to be this good. Airing 1 year after shooting wrapped and enforce to follow 40 episodes cut off, it's understandable to have flaws in some CG of fighting scenes and plot. Let's be reasonable, they need to be air ASAP, before other new government rules prevent or delay them. Along all episodes, I've crushed, hated, loved, laughed, awed, cried and blushed. I'm so touched and inspired by this series, so I'm already satisfied. Kudos to the cast and crew. And thank you to the community that support WRTW. ❤️

In the book, jade moon is divided by 2, both BFX and HFX wear it on their headpiece. An heirloom of their king ancestor, which from my understanding, is that FLX ancestor were in love with the 1st female King Feng of Qing, but she married a scholar instead. So the 2 pieces of jade moon symbolize the union of their reincarnation in the form of BFX and HFX.

I think it's Jiurong. If I remember correctly, Lin Ji is the one she trust Qing with while she went to Yong to get engaged. All I remember about generals, were both Yingzhou and Xuekong from Ji that falls in love with BFX, so I'm sad we didn't get that in the drama.
