All about love
A take on the French classic Jules et Jim.But the rewatch gave me a deeper understanding . I The theme is love.,almost with caps. Love of guy n°1 for girl ,guy n° 2 for girl.Love of girl for guy n° 1 and guy n°2. Guy 1 for guy 2 and guy 2 for guy one ( in a non sexual way) And both guys for their profession. There are also many other loves manifested in the plot. Love is the conductor of the 10 episodes. The acting is great.Kimura expresses more with his fingers than most actors with their whole bodies. And this was at the beginning of his career. Masakazu Tambura gives a suave guy performance which doesn't alienate the viewers.
Miyazawa Tie's role could be irritating but she swerves away effectively.
The only thing dated was the music, but it's impossible to have all. Not even the telephones bothered me.
One detail I found in rewatching the drama was the way the clothing subtly states the evolution of the characters.
All in all rewatch value is certainly high.

A script writer to follow
The story is well paced and with a solid development even with all the time leaps. There are no lags in the story line nor filler scenes . On the whole it is well crafted as were the old dramas of the golden era. I'll look up for other dramas by the script writer as i enjoyed his work .Somewhat disappointed with Satoh Takeru 's acting here as i find him stiff . However the FL is convincing in her role and as the story progresses her acting becomes full of nuances. She's come a long way from Kanojo wa kirei datta. The other female actress was extremely annoying imo.
I particularly enjoyed some of the visual cues. Somebody else caught on the kimi no na wa stairs?
