I have to appreciate the character writing so far, starting with Jeon Jinyoung. She's a refreshing character who embodies chaos, bubbliness, warmth, professionalism, and a passion for her craft...her confidence in the fact that she knows how to cook and then her proud moments after they enjoy her food . She's daring and outgoing, never a pushover, and I love the glimpses of her weariness, which she masks with unwavering positivity. She's an incredibly interesting character, and I find myself constantly rooting for her.

Then there's King Heon. He's presented as a cold, domineering tyrant, but he's also incredibly complex. While he shines when taking charge, I love the clumsy scenes where he struggles to pronounce future meal names, along with his exaggerated reactions to the food. These moments reveal his silly side, proving he's not just a king with a sad backstory. His smirks, sarcasm, and jokes perfectly balance his cold, domineering nature.

They compliment each other so well and their chemistry could power up the entire royal kitchen..well Joseon as a whole.
