We have seen friendships being portrayed as flawless, unconditional, pure, the ride or die kind of friendships so I appreciate a take on a friendship or something more than that..which is flawed, filled with envy jealousy, insecurities..the kind that falls in the grey area, you love and hate each other..you can't live without eachother but are better off apart because you ruin eachother..reality is that these kind of relationships exist...they not healthy but most of the times are not easy to get out of because you bounded by two strong emotions...hate and love...
IAM loving how this is going..it's political and after watching the trailer I thought if get bored..but nope..I've been hooked by all the three episodes....
Most of this writers dramas and films are women centric in a way that she puts women in the spotlight and that's why she and Kim Jieun are one of my favourite writers.
You don't have to watch all the episodes in one go...time table yourself if you not the binge watching type.. personally since IAM busy with work IAM to watch two a day or more if I get hooked lol
So technically speaking all the meals she's preparing from future recipes are going to be meals invented by her in the altered future after she goes back...she's going in the history booksðŸ˜ðŸ˜‚
I have to appreciate the character writing so far, starting with Jeon Jinyoung. She's a refreshing character who embodies chaos, bubbliness, warmth, professionalism, and a passion for her craft...her confidence in the fact that she knows how to cook and then her proud moments after they enjoy her food . She's daring and outgoing, never a pushover, and I love the glimpses of her weariness, which she masks with unwavering positivity. She's an incredibly interesting character, and I find myself constantly rooting for her.
Then there's King Heon. He's presented as a cold, domineering tyrant, but he's also incredibly complex. While he shines when taking charge, I love the clumsy scenes where he struggles to pronounce future meal names, along with his exaggerated reactions to the food. These moments reveal his silly side, proving he's not just a king with a sad backstory. His smirks, sarcasm, and jokes perfectly balance his cold, domineering nature.
They compliment each other so well and their chemistry could power up the entire royal kitchen..well Joseon as a whole.
