yeah and it seems that only Li Zhao and Wei Zhuang have left Lishan Mountain but quite a few years before Ye Li so they probably dont know everything. I mean even the ED was surprised to hear that Ye Li's mum had died so even if the royal guards are protecting the mountain pass it seems that they haven't ventured up at all for years. Also the monkeys are creepy af, at first I thought they were her hallucinations but since she's got bite marks and scars on her arms and the fact Qingshuang's bit mark is still fresh but hers have faded means that it's been years since QS passed yet Ye Li hasn't believed it.... I feel that deep down she knows the truth but has convinced herself otherwise
sidenote: loving the Maomao pfp. I'd actually love to see them adapt it into a cdrama lol

honestly it seems it was Yeli who saved herself since it showed the place Zhu was bitten was the same as where Ye Li was bitten and when she talks about Qingshuan or Zhu with Li Zhao he always has a concerned look like he knows they're not there anymore but since she believes so insistently he doesn't say anything as it seems it would be a lot more detrimental to her well-being, regardless I feel there is no one left on Lishan Mountian and Ye Li may be the last survivor
They haven't explained yet why he ditched FL's mother yet. Was it simply because of her grandpa being the head…
well the whole Lishan mountain plot is a drama only thing and not in the novel at all, so idk if the reason will be similar in the drama then in the novel. but it is very interesting plot wise for the drama so looking forward to how they execute it
I also read the whole novel but the changes doesn't annoy me. Rather it excites me because of how layered each…
i get what you mean, when I heard they were adapting it i was really excited, but they've changed pretty much the whole storyline from the novel, so i just decided to consider it like an AU of sorts, and enjoy the drama as it is, the casting for Ye Li and Mo Xu Yao is perfect which is a plus
Exactly she is imagining them so she even keeps the letter in that box instead of delivering them I think😭
yeah and others may suspect but none know for sure since Lishan mountain has been closed off to outsiders for the past 8 years, no one as gone in or out except for Ye Li and her senior brother
after completing ep 6 i just have this feeling that most of the people up in lishan mountain are dead. plus that grave she was at before had 7 tutors inscribed on it, the collection of letters that haven't been sent... is she the sole survivor of Lishan mountain? plus with her being the only one that can see Qingshuai too, it makes me wonder what happened three years ago after her senior brother left to become a ye manshion guard. is her grandpa even alive still? she claims they're all still there and doing well... but i have a feeling it's not that simple, and at the beginning the academy looked very desolate... it just makes me more and more curious as to how this story unfolds since it is completely different to the novel

yes but I am sad that we might not get some of the really good scenes from the novel like Ye Li creating her own military training ground near the bandits hideout, or her searching for her cousin and double disguising as a young master and as her cousin's fiancee when he went missing. I wonder if the two flower thieves brothers will be in this one?
Im confused 😵💫 i guess i was reading a different novel? Some characters in the drama were not in the…
honeslty it was the with Unveiled Jade Wind. I read the novel while I was watching it and Xiao Huaijun and Princess Pingan are not even characters in the novel or at least not in the part I was reading. So I was thoroughly confused as to why it was so different. but as always Bai Lu did a great job. I just hope that drama Yeli in this one has the same martial arts skills as the novel one
it's completely different from the novel, isn't it?
yeah very different i was really hoping we'd get to see all of Ye Li's cousins, but the plot is quite different however im simply watching for the leads. I just hope it keeps the essence of Ye Li and Mo Xiaoyu as well as the novel, so many good scenes that I hope to see but probably won't
coming back to this after reading the novel, it is a very different story, like completely different plot, however as a standalone drama it was quite good, and I can see why they made the changes they did however parts of the novel I'd have loved to see in the drama
it wasn't as detailed as the au from the novel but I appreciated it a lot. I'm glad they included it although I reckon they could've used an entire episode to tell the au story properly
I'm really glad they put in the AU at the end. although I'd have loved it more if they actually showed more of their time growing up together, however it's still a satisfactory ending.
What I liked about the adaptation is that they gave Changyu her own men, whereas in the novel the Pig Slaughtering Gang did not exist.
However I did find it interesting how they combined Li Huai'an's character with Zheng Wenchang from the novel, it made me curious to see how they would end things for him, if they went the Wenchang's ending or Huai'an's ending. Although they didn't show it i guess they chose Huai'an's ending for the drama.
Still solid drama. definitely recommend reading the novel. it's a lot more spicy too ahahah 🤭
What's with the 'ending scene' after Minister Li goes into exile/retirement, the massacre scene and then FCY's…
oh the first part was a dream and the second was reality. when we saw all the townsfolk that was Changyu's imagination and deepest wish, whereas the ending with the Zhao couple and the pig slaughtering squad was the reality
i was reading the novel for this and realised it was so vastly different, in fact, at least where I am in the novel, Li Peiyi and Xiao Huaijin don't exist, in fact none of the drama characters seem to be from the novel, i wonder why that is? or have I just been reading the wrong novel with the exact same title? it is interesting though, but for the novel readers is this the correct adaptation?
