I like this article and I really like the examples( mostly watched) you gave.
So I mostly watch J and Kdrama. Kdrama I mostly watch while airing( due to immediate subs) and Jdramas later( rarely while airing due to really late subs).
Because of that watching habit I noticed that my dropped or on-hold drama are mostly jdrama.
But even though I easyly drop jdrama I like them more than Kdrama. Just as you wrote in your article jdrama are just soooo diverse. The variety is just so wide even if you drop one you find 5 others you like.
One more thing that I really like about jdrama: They are not really idol-driven!!!!
Kdrama tend to depend on the popularity of some idol/star, if you like me can't stand some actors you will never be able to watch or finish that drama.
In jdrama the whole thing is a colaboration of all actors, settings, OST and so on, even if you don't like one actor, that is okay because sth else will catch your eye.
We need a spoiler warning! Okay, I watched most of the drama you mentioned and enjoyed your article, but the pure souls that haven't been through those scenes.....

Wahhh, this woman is amazing. Being at that age and still acting like a pro.
I like her, and hats down for being married for 50 years.
Taiyo no Uta both movie and drama are waiting for years on my hard disk drive, but I some how still have to watch…
If you take a glimpse at my list you will notice that I like heavy, slow paced stuff.
Yep, the thing with the half-mute makes sense, but at the time I watched it I was really frustrated.

Beck is one of my first encounters with Satou Takeru and I liked it. But that I'll call it 'half-mute' thing with Takerus character killed me.
Solanin is still and will always be one of my fav jmovies. I loved the music and all. Also the actors were just great.
*went straight to reading*
*stopped in the middle*
Aaahhh I know this writing style!!!
*goes to the top*
I knew it! Pretty Rita!
Nice writing as always and I can say for myself that I change countries as soon as I get a lil bored.
Listening to old OST also makes me come back to dramaland( sometimes).
I'm going to put this on hold, just like One more Happy Ending. The thing that made me start this drama was Sung Joon. Sung Joon's facial expressions were so great in Gü Family Book and here it is the same. Maybe I'll complete this drama later by just watching his scenes in mute. His face is a drama on its own.
Wow, seeing ouri Jung Hwan I was really excited, but I seriously haven't seen even one of those examples.
Second lead is really bad and up till now I saw just one example of second- lead getting the girl Peach Girl( manga).
The first 2 drama you mentioned aren't even in my ptw list. I loved Reply( the whole pack).
I can understand your feelings, I had to experience things like that, too. While I loved Heartstings( even rewatched it) others hated it. While I hated Liar Game others loved it.
I give you a one-man-standing-ovation for being such a daredevil to say no to 80% of MDLers most loved dramas.

Tell me a drama without jerk-male?

Just thinking of the Coffee Prince theme makes me want to watch it again.

Gomen ne Seishun should have been mentioned.
With this I was able to finally vote.
Seriously, what is with the Deal wih The Healer?
Kill Me, Heal Me is the real thing!
Maybe I should try one of these.
