if you can't separate fiction from real life just watch kids cartoons. so what if watchers like the 'toxic' characters?…
Hon, so what? let them. Hannibal and Sherlock from the more recent series are good examples for mainstream characters whom are hot as hell. Being toxic doesn't change it. Defending the virtuous is for real people, not characters.
Great article, but I honestly believe that this isn't a rule in the most recent dramas.
In While You are Sleeping the lead is beautiful, knows she's beautiful, shows character development, and even being in love doesn't make her stupid when the plot needs it.
Secretary Kim is also another example. She can be the perfect secretary, but she's also a strong lead who has a fantastic development so far, specially when you compare when she started working with him. And she may let her boss be a jerk, but when the work aspect isn't the most important, she doesn't let him get his way.
I believe that the dramas are changing in the way they perceive woman, and that this change is very welcome.
