Speak for yourself. I am not saying that I don't want good scripts but I also am happy when the rolls are filled…
I agree with you on it has good storyline.but I'm sorry if you watch any serious historical drama you'll understand it's not the greatest plot either.and yes not everyone gonna like the drama but the issue is they claimed it's the best in historical genre and compare the drama with other dramas, well knowing that audience not gonna receive it well.so blame is clearly on drama promo team (and fans who act arrogant and set up drama for criticism ) it's not audience's fault
It's not about wearing makeup itself, but about a generals in the dramas paying attention to their look on a battlefield.its…
1.drama being fiction doesn't mean they can do anything without getting criticism.dramas, specially very popular one like poj represent their culture.and as I said they put it under historical category.chinese audience in general are serious about historical dramas and even having different dialect or mispronouncation of one character make them go crazy.and you can't tell Chinese people to not to be upset about someone misinterpreting their history in a unrealistic way.just because you like idol dramas you can't expect everyone to tolerate visual focus unrealistic scenes.people not gonna lower their standards just because other people have low standard
2.did you even read the article? They are not banning makeup.they are trying to make them focus more on story that doesn't mean actors have to look ugly ( unless story goes that way ofc )
3. Most adaptive stories change looks since book descriptions of a character isn't always perfect so that's not an excuse. it is drama team fault. and the director of poj famous for focusing on visual
4. In modern dramas, yes it shouldn't be a problem.but we are talking about a war scenes in a historical drama here.even if it's female general they won't look like an idol they gonna look atleast bit masculine and commanding on a battlefield ( for ex look at legend of shen li ) .so it's not having certain image based on gender.no one criticizing them for ml looking good on other scenes despite he looking good there too.if what you said is the cause they'll criticize whole drama but they didn't.
if you perceive criticism about flaws in drama as a personal attack to the actors and drama team you won't understand any of this.because you can't see the true nature of a situation with a colored lenses.maybe try putting off your biases and look at the situation from Chinese audience's perspective
It's not about wearing makeup itself, but about a generals in the dramas paying attention to their look on a battlefield.its…
they have the option of wearing a makeup that suits the scenes.not some flower boy makeup. There's generals in cdramas who have battlefield looks that don't look unrealistic despite wearing makeup.
and about "appeal to different audience" , well that's the problem.they promoted it among the audience who watch serious historical dramas ( read my other reply for more context ) . You can't promote idol type drama among fans who only interest in historically accurate, serious dramas and expect them to like it and not point out when there's a unrealistic scene
It's not about wearing makeup itself, but about a generals in the dramas paying attention to their look on a battlefield.its…
Well unfortunately for you Chinese audiences are different from international audience, specially when it comes to historical drama they expect historical accuracy.and tbh what they expected from poj was bare minimum (realistic "general in battlefield" look).and even tho there's audience purely for visual as well you can't expect everyone to have same standards.and their promo team and zl fans post dram clip with caption like "it's best historical drama" so it's not audience fault.if you are claiming it's the best among historical drama people obviously gonna compare it with other historical drama, including serious dramas with historical accuracy.
Speak for yourself. Beautiful faces and exquisite costumes only enhance a good script.
Not when it's unrealistic.being unrealistic isn't same as enhancement.looks should be a bonus point not the main focus, and that's what the article says as well
Speak for yourself. I am not saying that I don't want good scripts but I also am happy when the rolls are filled…
But in poj case honoring the author mean looking unrealistic on a battlefield.and it's not just about his makeup it's about his hair accessories (or whatever it called) and overall looks. its not realistic nor practical.and poj team promo the drama with caption like it's the best historical, fictional drama.but there's people who don't like idol type historical drama and enjoy heavy plot and expect historical accuracy.so they kinda asked for it.since poj is a idol drama they should've promote it as a idol drama rather than claiming it's best among other dramas (which are more historically accurate and focused more on plot ).and mind you historical drama fans in china are way picky even with serious plot now imagine idol drama claiming they are the best in that genre .ofc they'll be upset
Speak for yourself. I am not saying that I don't want good scripts but I also am happy when the rolls are filled…
"someone take offense because ml was too good looking " ? Don't you read the article before commenting ? It's not about his looks it's about unrealistic appearance of his character in the drama (battlefield scenes) and if actors get cancelled for looks there won't be a c-ent industry since majority of them are good looking.they are talking about not to make visual main focus and focus more on plot (as they should)
"The 'generals' in costume dramas wearing makeup cannot bear the social responsibility of embodying masculine…
It's not about wearing makeup itself, but about a generals in the dramas paying attention to their look on a battlefield.its about how unrealistic it is.not just in past but even today soldiers (despite the gender) don't wear makeup when they go to a war,not because they don't care about their appearance but because it's not practical nor they have time to care about it
He has lots of romance drama. This is something new for him.
Oh you meant based on novel.it seems more interesting that way.i never read the novel and now I'm curious.do you know where can I find the english translation from ?
He has lots of romance drama. This is something new for him.
If you are into romance genre, try Wonderland of love. even tho it's not a modern drama they have lot of romance (+ so many kiss scenes),and xu kai character is goofy and romantic there.the ending was also so satisfying.
I was hesitant to watch this drama because I thought main leads may lack chemistry but surprisingly I enjoyed the drama and rewatched many times already.i love how this drama isn't resolving around romance only.it has perfect balance of business scenes and romance scenes.unlike most dramas,in this drama fl have a brain and don't act like a 3yr old. and ml doesn't act unprofessionally just to please his lover either.i think among other xu kai drama I have watched I loved the han ting's character the most.he is a clear headed, sassy, responsible, don't tolerate other people bs,love his gf so much and look hot af.and xu Kai portrait the character well.
Damn, that ep 32 - 33 are really destroying the FL character build up from ep 1, such a bad take
It is not.she literally watched a movie with her ex,use han tings name just for career benifit.so she was mixing her professional life and personal life since the beginning.she indeed earned some business virtue up until ep 32 but she still mix her profession and personal feelings and seeing thing from perspective of a gf rather than businesswomen, when it's not about personal feelings but business.its annoying how she abandon the business because of break up
I would never forgive a person who mix love with professional life and then betray it and try to justify it as…
He didn't betrayed her or sabotage her career.if he didn't merge two companies director board would have pressuring him to focus on other company, abandoning hers since other company have head start and more successful than her company.he may be the CEO but he can't act wild by only considering his lover's feelings.he didn't change her staff even after those two companies were merged, also he was against the director board suggestion to get the control of company from her.she was tech talent with no business experience & its her lack of business experience make her break up with him, failing to see business perspective of the situation.
