Title The Long Night
What was missing was character development - what DROVE the characters to do what they did? Why was Jiang Yang so obsessed with the case, when he was reluctant to do it in the first place? The acting did the characters justice but the writing did not. Tension derived from a deep-seated motive was missing. Especially since the set up of the drama was a whodunnit, and the actual "who" was pretty evident in the last couple of episodes, the drama fell flat in the end despite a wonderful set-up.
