Of you watched LBC, you would know what Tar's problem is.
That’s because LBC happens AFTER TharnType, which is essentially a prequel. So why would TT pick that up when it hasn’t even happened yet? And if they stick to the novel closely, which they so far have, Tum will not find out even until the end of TharnType unless they do a time jump/ flashforward scenario in TT to years later post-LBC.
Tar is acting the way he does because of his PTSD.
You ain't the only. I was kinda disappointed in tharn for dating a minor????
Tharn started as a college freshman on this show, but he and Tar dated prior to him going to college. So they dated in HS and Tharn was also a minor back then (or had just turned 18, depending on the timing).
It does seem off-putting visually when you see them because Mew, who plays Tharn, is 28 years old in real life and really isn't too believable as a 19-year old (per his recent birthday episode).
Add to this the fact that Kok, who plays Tar, also doesn't look his age - he's around 24/25 in real life per his profile here, but he looks very young and could indeed pass for a high school minor especially when he's in uniform.
Type and Techno is there but acted by different actor while Tharn, they just mentioned him but not make any appearance…
Yup! Type evolves from being what he is in TT into a more level-headed mature person by the time LBC comes along. A lot of it will have to do with what happens with Tar in the last few episodes (hence, by LBC, they are friends, and Tar even brings him stuff from abroad)... but I wonder how they can fit all that character development in just a span of the lest 3 episodes LOL
Type and Techno is there but acted by different actor while Tharn, they just mentioned him but not make any appearance…
Gulf doesn't appear in LBC because Type was portrayed by a different actor (Earth P.) which I noted above also. Type is the one in all the soccer/football scenes with Techno. He is also the one who interacts in some scenes with Tum and Tar.
Also LBC was in 2018, and Gulf was cast for TT only in early 2019.

The following characters (mostly secondary/tertiary in LBC) are in both shows, played by different actors: 1. Type (Gulf / Earth P.) 2. Techno (Mild / Gun N.) 3. Tum (Hiter / Title) 4. Tar (Kok / Earth K.) 5. Technic (Kenji / Kris) 6. Champ (Boat / Ew)
The following characters are in both shows, played by the same actors: 1. Kengkla (Mark Siwat) - has appeared a few times on TT 2. Pete (Saint) - has yet to appear in TT, possibly short role towards end of the season 3. Tin (Mean) - has yet to appear in TT, possibly short role towards end of the season
Tharn was only mentioned several times in LBC, primarily during scenes involving Type/Tum/Tar, but did not make any actual appearance on that show.
No one is defending him. That is what he is, a total axxhole. Tharn knows, techno knows, his friends know. This…
Summary:
Pre-Type. 1. Tar and Tharn were boyfriends before. 2. Lhong has been secretly in love with Tharn for a long time. 3. Lhong makes arrangements for Tar to be gang-raped. 4. Tar feels ashamed and “dirty” and “not worthy.” He breaks up with Tharn. Tharn doesn’t know why. 5. Tum, Tar’s stepbrother, thinks Tharn broke up with Tar and that it was Tharn who broke Tar’s heart. 6. Tum and Tharn fight and their band break apart. 7. Tar is haunted by the rape. He has been keeping the incident to himself and is experiencing severe PTSD. This is what’s being demonstrated in many of his scenes on the show (the artwork on his room, his behaviors looking scared, etc.)
Type finds out about all these later on. Won’t go into more full details, but he basically pretends to break up with Tharn in order to expose Lhong.

If they stick closely to the novel (which they’ve generally done so far), then the show is going to take a VERY dark turn with the Lhong and Tar storyline. As in super dark and disturbing. But Type will have a (positive) hand in helping resolve things.
I think Lhong's song Be Mine is not really about Tharn and Type. We may interpret it that way if we see it in…
I think that was the main point of having Lhong do the song. The show is about to take a VERY dark turn (assuming they follow the novel closely on the Lhong/Tharn/Tar angle), and it was a prelude to it. Especially now that Lhong knows Tharn and Type are together.

True, so far I've not really seen anyone actually defending Type's behavior. I think most agree he's an arse. We have very few flawed characters in BLs, so it's good to see some 3D ones like these two.
That said, Type does need to develop and evolve fast as the series is about to end.
But I'm hoping the Tar/Lhong subplot will finally bring that change about in Type (if they follow the novel closely, which so far they have).
*Raises Hand* Tharn just needs to find a way to make type jealous enough to leave the girl.
While I understand the reasons for changing that scene for the show, I think it would've been an intriguing and bold choice (besides, he did practically a similar thing in the shower scene later on).
What I like about Tharn so far is that he's more complex and "gray" than the average BL guy.
Often, BL main leads tend to be portrayed as too "clean" and "nice" (Ae and Pete of LBC, Arthit and Kongpob, etc.). Even if they have flaws, you would rarely see the major ones be portrayed in such a morally questionable manner.
But it does happen in real life, and it's good to see important issues such as consent, sexual assault, and trauma be tackled in these shows once in a while instead of the world being always so "perfect."

I think he may have, but Tum has a blind spot when it comes to Tar (he's clearly in love with his stepbrother), so I think it's possible that even if Tar tells him the that, Tum would still find ways to blame Tharn.
*Raises Hand* Tharn just needs to find a way to make type jealous enough to leave the girl.
While we know Tharn didn't do it, "in-universe" we also have to realize that Tharn technically did force himself on Type in the shower.
And in the book, once prior to that he also molested Type by giving him an unwanted HJ... the scene where he enters the room after Type finished doing "it" by himself? In the book, Tharn actually catches him in the act. And then when Type insults Tharn's father, in the book that results in an angry Tharn grabbing Type's thing and forcing an HJ.
So Tharn already has been shown to be capable of sexual abuse even if it wasn't with Tar - and not to the violent extent that was done to Tar.

Yeah, I'm curious how they'll be handling this story on the show. It's an extremely dark and heavy story, at par with The Effect. I hope they pull it off well (I have faith).
Tar is acting the way he does because of his PTSD.
Can is in denial that he is now falling for someone he hates / used to hate.
This is pretty much what happened to Type with Tharn, (except in TinCan’s case, less violence and less homophobia and more classism/elitism).
So Type knows what Can was going through and is a perfect person to give him advice.

Here is a good summary of TharnType-related scenes in LBC.
Note that No = Techno.
