Still thinking about this beautiful show and my tragic cp Fu Ling/Bai Xi x Chong Zhao 😭😭😭... and I just want to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT TO THE COSTUME DEPARTMENT!!!! I was thinking about the final scene of Bai Xi where she appears in front of Chong Zhao in his mind and the outfit she is wearing that is the only scene we see her in that dress in the whole drama... it's light purple/pastel (similar to her Bai Xi clothing color palette) but it also includes that streak of dark black fabric across the middle (similar to her Fu Ling clothing color palette). I think it was so beautiful for them to choose this as the dress in which Chong Zhao "sees" her after her death because it is sort of a metaphor for the fact that he loves ALL of her and he SEES all of her... he doesn't just love Bai Xi OR Fu Ling but he loves and accepts her in TOTALITY even with her dark past actions. He acknowledges them and still loves her AND still recognizes she is Bai Xi from his childhood. (And its important that ONLY Chong Zhao sees her in this outfit and it is after her death as it implies that this is how HE truly sees her) Having that final dress be her only dress in the whole show that so clearly and distinctly shows the two "versions" of herself with the super pale purple and then super dark black is really such a beautiful story telling technique and I love the care everyone put into making this show 😭😭

WOW... this easily became one of the most personally impactful dramas I have ever watched... As a girl with an older sister who I am close with, the storyline between the sisters and then their father moved me in ways I was completely not expecting. I loved all the couples, but for me the romance between the second couple was just so compelling and interesting and beautiful and complicated and just... I really appreciate what the writers did with this show (even if it left me heartbroken and sobbing at times) Props to the whole cast (always loved Bai Lu) AND drama team (outfits, scenery, emotional impact all 10/10) But girlie Dai Lu Wa.... you have a new BIGGEST fan I'm SO excited to watch all her dramas in the future, she is truly a star and she made the role of Fu Ling SO compelling (I hope I see her and Chang Hua Sen reunite in another drama as a main couple in the future!!!!)
