oh yeah, it's not like she can read ppl's minds so she constantly avoids eye contact and being awkward in social interaction. and her past boyfriend certainly didn't dump her for the same reason right? anyway why is she like that? female character needs to be perfect you know and we don't need awkward character with social anxiety representation even though people like that exist in real life 😤

yes, that's the words, lack of empathy. i feel like if a female character is not a girlboss type and has weaknesses, ppl will suddenly say the character is badly written or something. i don't think they're expecting to see a human actually lol

it's not "struggling with language" that made him immature to me. but the way he's so pushy toward yuri, like when he ignores yuri's request to call her boss and not to talk to her casually in the office in ep 2. good thing is yuri actually likes him (and agressive man is what she needs because if taeoh isn't agressive, the romance will not progress). but if we see it from outside view, some of his actions will be considered creepy and immature.

well her character is supposed to be awkward and the running is just part of her awkwardness (and i don't think she's running that much).

to all the comments that said the female lead acting like a teenager:

this is a story about a 30 years old woman who never had a romantic relationship for 12 years and suddenly, an attractive younger man approached her (and rather agressively). i think it's normal to act like you're back to adolescence again because she's human and a 30 years old is allowed to have feelings too. oh, and she can read other people's feelings too.

also if we're talking about "acting like a middle schooler", the male lead is not exactly mature either.

what a cute episode. i felt like blushing all the episode. btw my impression of the "daruma-san ga koronda" (and the korean version of it) before this drama was always related to horror thing (because of kamisama no iutoori & squid game lol), but thanks to this drama, it's now becoming romantic 🤣

also yuri and mahiro~ i'm glad now yuri doesn't have to keep all of her baggages to just herself. and it felt like taeoh sensed something about yuri's power. and the picture book! i wonder if the professor is so opposed to their relationship is because of the picture book (in the picture book it is said misfortune will come to the couple). i got the feeling this drama will end with yuri losing her power. but i will be so sad if it happens because it means yuri can't communicate with her father anymore 😔

tbs drama from previous season, fermat no ryouri, was released on netflix in batch, first five episodes when the drama was still airing, and the next five episodes a few weeks after the drama's final episode. so maybe they will release it like that for the march 10 release. in asia, only two episodes available and new episode will be released every thursday. but i heard english subs are available for 4 eps in netflix japan, so the fastest way to watch it with eng subs is to watch it on netflix japan with vpn.

lol because it feels like they don't want us to see them kissing. like why hide it so much? 😔 but the scenery is pretty so i forgive it lol

yess if hanaoka had more courage and taeoh never exist in yuri's life, i could see yuri returning his feelings.

you're so right and also i watch this mainly because i'm big fan of nikaido fumi and i'm not really into kdrama or korean actors (not because i hate it, but just because of length reason). while i really adore taeoh and his actor, the one who got "kawaii" the most from me is fumi lol (i'm woman btw). nothing wrong watching it as escapism but claiming the ones who enjoyed it are only women who wants to fantasizes about korean men is a bit condescending.

i watched it in real time via this android app called japanese tv live. i'm still learning japanese so i can understand probably like 80% of the episode

i'm also grownup adult around yuri's age and i'm enjoying this drama so much. also our female lead hasn't dated since high school so it will be weird if she's behaving like she's experienced in love.

I'm proud of yuri for breaking out of her shell and finally becoming honest with her feelings. Love that they repeat the confessions scene from ep 1 in this episode. My only complain: the kiss scene!! they should give it a better angle 😔

love the scene with hanaoka too. didn't know a jankenpon scene can make me feel so emotional. i feel like in another world, if hanaoka was more honest about his feelings for yuri, i could see them as couple.

anyway can't wait to watch yuri-taeoh dating era~

she was basically teenager in that scene. and you know teenagers are stupid lol

Taeoh and hanaoka's rivalry is one of the funniest things in this drama so i hope they will bring that more in the next episode 😆

ep. 5
hanaoka's confession (in his heart) really shocked her because she never noticed that even with her mind reading ability. i guess hanaoka is really good at supressing his feelings (at least in front of yuri). and while she doesn't have romantic feelings to hanaoka, hanaoka is still an important person in her life, so she knows responding to taeoh's feelings will hurt hanaoka (so she hurts taeoh's feelings instead lol). i love the angst this episode gave, like i can really feel the pain of all the characters (yuri, taeoh, hanaoka). also we have been given fluff so far, so this ep is kinda refreshing lol. looking at ep 6 preview, it looks like it will be a positive episode.

everyone seems to forget that yuri's last romantic relationship was when she was in high school aka around 12 years ago lol. i understand the frustration about her character, but i also understand why she's like that.

oh i didn't say you criticised it. i just wanted to answer your question about why the adults in this drama don't have any issue with their relationship. sorry if it came off wrong~

well it's because hayame is a good person. minor-adult relationship is illegal because it has potential to be predatory (minor can't consent and can easily be manipulated) while there's nothing predatory about issei and hayame's relationship and hayame doesn't manipulate him to love her (also she changes him to be a better person).

well, in the end this is just fiction. issei and hayame's story is something that can only happens in fiction (i mean how many divorced women who become homeless and getting picked up by high school boy exist in real life? 😉)

I didn't expect to like this series that much because i don't particularly like the original manga. well manga issei is somehow way more annoying than drama issei, so it surprised me that i came to like this character that much (thanks to gordon's wonderful portrayal, i'll be looking forward to his future works). initially watched this for fumi, and it turned out to be such a fun and lovely drama. all the characters are interesting (even kikuno) and it's also so addictive? (there are so many scenes that i love to rewatch). anyway just like gordon said in his q&a, i also want a sequel!

gordon said in promise cinderella q & a that we need to tweet 続編希望 #プロミスシンデレラ (hoping for sequel #promisecinderella) if we want to see them again and the cast also teasing (even the supporting one) us about sequel in the video by official ig. And by the way they said that, it feels like they already know something that we don't 😄. The manga hasn't ended yet and it seems they keep adding new plot/characters after the final episode plot so i don't think it's impossible to have sequel (or at least, sp episode).

as for nigehaji sp, i don't think they're milking the marriage since they only started dating after they shoot the sp and the marriage happened a few months after the sp aired. (also there's rumor that nigehaji initially will have 2nd season this october, but the plan fell through because the couple married irl. well, jp celebs couple usually never work together again after they married or in relationship 😆)
