the first half of ep 12 was so wonderfully done, from the flashback scene with shen juan and his uncle to the part where shen juan makes that painful decision to the funeral scene afterwards and then when he reads lin yujing's essay, all of which encompass the emptiness when he's lost the people dearest to him. i think of all the dramas that i've watched him in, this one is the most effective at showing his acting capability

Somehow I can't bring myself to finish watching this, CM's storyline is more boring than I was expecting. I was hopeful at the beginning that QH and CM's bond would be more emotionally impactful but it was dragged out and flat. Also, in the middle of the drama it feels like he has more screentime than QH, I can't help but to speed up his scenes
