Wow. I finished this on Sunday and I'm still suffering fallout from it. I want to say I am a parent, my child is an adult, and watching the dynamic between the family and the outside world struck a deep chord within me. When does protecting someone you cherish go too far? At the end, when you're told how young Chen Hui and Songge are I was left speechless.
The surprise for me was Xu Kai. I was totally surprised that his character wasn't bailed out at the end, and that he was totally believable as Chen Hui.
I don't want to add spoilers so I will just say this is a powerful, slice of real life family drama. I only gave it a 9 for rewatch value because I can't watch it again. I don't see how they can do a S2 though. It's perfect as it is.
