I've seen the edits thats why give it a 3/10 for poverty and some realism life can be little bittersweet but this…
That’s fair, everyone has different preferences. I just think it’s hard to fully judge When Life Gives You Tangerines without really watching it, since a lot of its depth comes from how the story unfolds over time.
Also, I don’t really see him as a doormat. To me, he’s a genuinely kind and emotionally strong character. Not reacting with anger or forcing himself onto others doesn’t mean he has no personality. Especially as a parent, staying patient and present even when it’s hard feels more like strength than weakness.

It’s totally fine if the drama isn’t your cup of tea. But rating When Life Gives You Tangerines 3/10 after mostly watching trailers, edits and only part of the first episode doesn’t really give the story a fair chance.
Also, saying it’s only good because it’s sad overlooks that the drama is about the ups and downs of life, not just tragedy. It shows the bittersweetness of life, so I wouldn’t even say it has a bad ending.
Stories like this can reflect real experiences many people went through, especially in earlier generations. Just because something isn’t familiar to us personally doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist in the world.

But if it’s not for you, that’s totally okay.
