Guys, I’m really struggling with this drama. I loved the first 8 episodes in the village, but now I don’t…
a bit more detailed here, i believe the reason why they rushed through the whole university part of xiaolan's life is because the web novel which is the source material has 2000+ chapters and they are trying to adapt more scenes with the limited number of episodes, and the university she chose is huaqing university, with her knowledge of the future (even if there's a chance that she's in a parallel world) helped her decide which university she should choose to help hone her future (for networking and credentials, i also believe that it's a counterpart of a well-known university in china but they needed to change the name to avoid issues) i think it was also in episode 10 when xiaolan was with zhou cheng's family and they were discussing why they were moving to shengcheng, and after that, they rented the house from granny yu in shengcheng, and her aunt in law is still in their village (as seen in episode 14) also she met bai in longcheng, and after xiaolan suggested some business opportunities in shengcheng, she moved there afterward and set up a stall there (that is now a bigger store) hope this further clarifies everything ! :>
is the reason why xiaolan is seen wearing an orange dress in ep.8 to show how she and ziyu are so different that they're literally opposites? ziyu was wearing a blue dress on that scene, and traditionally orange is the color opposite to blue
Yu Zhi and Ling Bo are engaged but they have same grandfather, directly first cousins to each other. It must be…
i believe cousin marriage was also quite common in china back then and in the context of the story they needed a male successor for the sect (and wanted to keep the power and control by having essentially an adopted son that's also blood related to the last sect leader succeed the current head) also i believe it was mu qingyan's uncle who had a thing / or some sort of relationship with cai zhao's aunt (this is based on the character relationship chart)
