I beg to differ that BL portrays LGBT+ representation. I've read and watched all kinds BL and Yaoi themed mangas, dramas and manhwa and I don't really think that this genre has ever represented LGBT+ real couples. It is really hard to find a famous BL/Yaoi movie, drama, manga, book that portrays healthy relationships.

As strange as It seems this genre is likely directed to women, giving them a scapegoat to inner unspeakable fantasies. The stories are full of unrequited, impossible, full of sex, violent, possessive and condemned by society love. Obsessed and Addicted series are famous and loved by most because they perfectly portray this. All kinds of acts committed by the seme are justified because he madly fell in love with the uke, and the uke always also loves the seme, that is why all is forgiven. In the real world this kind of behavior pattern relationship is obviously unacceptable.
