More laughs than tears, loved it
I’m watching it almost back to back on Netflix in Australia (2025) as I loved it so much. The OSTs are amazing, I listen to them all the time. The chemistry between the main leads is undeniable. I love the punch lines like “I’ve never given my rice cooker as a gift”. Yes, name calling and bickering is not necessarily healthy but some people express their feelings differently. I’ve been married for 30 years and my husband is my soul mate but he does tease me all the time and I do too. Who doesn’t love the three bears song? I think Ji-eun was more clueless than Yeong-Jae in many ways. At the end of the day he was the one that helped her financially when she was stranded in China. Her friends are totally despicable and I could not bring myself to like them. The one I totally dislike was Hye-won, she was a selfish entitled princess, I cringed when she’d tell Yeong-Jae “I will not let you go” that’s not love, that’s sickening obsession. I was happy to see that his family had embraced her and had not looked down on her. I was relieved it had a happy ending although I would have loved to see them kissing passionately in more scenes during the last episode. I know I’ll watch it many more times as I love the two main leads and the music is awesome.

A very enjoyable Korean drama series
I really enjoyed watching this series especially learning about the Hwarangs. It was great to see that some of the Hwarangs although they have started out as enemies in times of hardships they had come together. I love how the friendships and loyalties developed between the handsome Hwarangs. There were many heartbreaking moments but lots of funny moments too which was refreshing. I know the ending might seemed rushed but it was a 40 episode series which was condensed to 20 episodes. The only person in this drama that I have no sympathy for was the Queen. The most heartbreaking moment was when the young Hwarang stepped in front of the ML and got stabbed/poisoned by his brother. Park Seo-Joon is the reason I watched it but got to love the rest of the Hwarangs although I think he was the most dynamic. The costumes and music were great too.Was this review helpful to you?

Shall I finish watching it or shall I not?
This is my very first negative review. I’m struggling and forcing myself to like this drama and I’m debating whether to continue watching this series or not. The female lead is the most freaking annoying character ever. Her facial expressions are like wtf am I seeing here? Who eats like that, it’s offensive to poor people. When she smiles she looks sweet but overall especially with that hairstyle I can’t see why anyone will fall for her. I’m sorry but I don’t find her personality endearing at all. I don’t even know who the real bully is here. I’ve watched Meteor Garden and apart from the weird ending and the horrible rich mother I loved how the story is not just about the main leads and we get to see the life of the other members of F4. Also I love the fact that the F4 sing the OST.Was this review helpful to you?
