Eul Tae has no heart, he has a hole in place, a wound that won't heal (He said it's Min Sang Woon's fault). There is a painting on the wall that suggests there is a pair (Min Sang Woon from the front and a man in blue from the back). In the painting they are surrounded by monsters and have a halo on their heads (in paintings it is used to designate deities). There is a connection between Eul Tae and Min Sang Woon, because when she gets hurt we already know that he feels it. Dan Hwal was already born as a cursed child (the old woman said that Bulgasal did this because he had a grudge from a previous life).
A theory , help me with that:
Maybe the two Bulgasal were made in pairs, as divine beings who would control the monsters. The man in blue in the picture with Min Sang Woon is Dan Hwal (in his previous incarnation). I say this because he used a lot of blue in the first episode, he carries a blue sword... maybe these are more clues.
1. in a previous incarnation Eul Tae, killed Dan Hwal and became Bulgasal. 2. Dan Hwal who now had Eul Tae's soul, was reborn as a cursed baby. 3. Min Sang Woon sticks a sword into Dan Hwal and absorbs his soul. 4. Dan Hwal then now becomes Bulgasal again (his original form) 5. Dan Hwal kills Min Sang Woon, who is now a being with a soul.
-> So... the soul that is reincarnating all this time is Eul Tae ... maybe he is trying to recover it. (It also explains why Eul Tae feels pain when Min Sang Woon gets hurt, it's his soul).
Most likely it was Eul Tae who killed Dan Hwal family, while hunting him to get his soul back. Min Sang Woon saved Dan Hwal as a child, she was trying to protect him... which reinforces the theory that they had a previous connection.
The piece that doesn't fit in this theory is: Why didn't she let Eul Tae kill Dan Hwal and get his soul back at the beginning. (Because then we would have no plot for the drama? )
