In my opinion, the novel was definitely better than the series. One big difference between the novel and series is that in the novel they didn't really make it clear who won but the series did. I feel like the series left out a lot of good things from the novel so definitely read the novel. Example, in the novel Khanin and Tharin's relationship had like more depth to it. As someone who read the novel, the series kinda disappointed me but if I hadn't read the novel I probably would've like the series a lot.
