I first saw IU in moon lovers: scarlet hearts ryeo and I absolutely fell in love with her. She's so talented!! I've since watched all the dramas after but not the ones before so will need to go back and watch those! Thank you for this guide!
My opinion is totally bias because I love Mr. Queen. I think everything was perfect. The music was phenomenal.…
It's completely fine that you think everything was perfect. I disliked it but I can understand why you (and others) like it. And I agree, sometimes a 'bad' ending is so much more tasteful than a happy ending, particularly if the tone of the drama is quite dark and depressing to begin with. As I said, I never got that far, so I cannot comment on how good or bad this ending is.
That is completely true. Even the most light-hearted of historical/period rom-com dramas have politics. It's why I tend to stay away from them. I'm not too convinced by your explanation of a period drama vs. a historical drama. In my opinion, a period drama is set 'in history' but not necessarily based off of any certain period whereas a historical drama is. As such, period dramas can focus more on romance as the politics will be made up anyway, but equally, it's also possible that they may choose to make up drama for the sake of entertainment. Regardless, both terms are used interchangeably and most don't bother to make the distinction as ultimately, it's either fiction or history with a creative licence.
I've seen this show so many times that I cannot express an objective opinion on it. It is one that I would recommend to anyone that enjoys a crime show. It's just a shame that HK dramas aren't popular and that the drama is old enough that people won't think to look at it...
Not a lot of people will even read this comment but I hope that if you're sitting on the fence about this show, I hope you watch it and enjoy it as much as I did.
Ah, you did indeed. My apologies for not reading properly...
