There a lot changes and scene cuts predominantly to YaoLiu's romance. In season one, they deleted XY dream about ocean stars while sleeping in XL's shell, pond scene where Jing refused to kiss her because "she didn't have him in his eyes", deleted XY laughing at Jing when he asked her for the oath, bed scene when she found out FFB IS XL (XY was too cold, but she was worried in the novel), XY napping with FFB|XL taking care of her and all the times they went shopping together and he will spoil her.

Polynormous, I guess, in a Western concept, is not quite the right word. Lol.
In my language, we have a term for people like XY - 'neeg siab coob.' It literally translates to someone who has many hearts. It doesn't carry nor have the same kind of vibe that the word 'polynormous' does. It carries a deep cultural stigma as someone who is selfish and insecure; therefore, they throw their hearts around and keep their options open. Someone who is 'siab coob' only cares about their needs and wants and how their romantic partners can fill their voids.

So Winny interpretation of XY is misleading, because XY fits the bill of a person who is siab coob. Lmao. Maybe in her culture they don't have such a concept and therefore, makes it hard to grasp that XY could possibly be so fickle hearted.

I have a more sarcastic outlook on this: simply becuase Jing doesn't pose a threat to him . So no point in hiding. Haha.

Lol...yeah, I know but sometimes one has to simplify things. Complex ideas and critical/abstract thinking are not everyone's forte. 😉

Lol...character development is not important...haha...that was a good laugh. 😂 She didn't choose YaoJing as her favorite romance (never heard such blasphemy from Tong Hua) to conclude the story. She merely used it as an alternative ending to her other body of works.

When she becames a princess, her worldview narrows and her insecurities as well has her codependency becomes her personality. 😩

Please...XY is a polynormous heart, she never outright reject anyone. Her refusal to kiss XL after she became a princess was just her insecurities and her trying to keep her oath to Jing...but on land she half rejected and half confessed hoping XL would be the one to make the first move. To her dismal, he backed out instead. Who cares if TH wrote TSJ as endgame, she did it as creative choice to offset her other works--we call that kind of gimmick, a plot device. Plot device are important for only one purpose--to wait for other more important characters to make decisons about it's fate. 😂

Ya'll forgetting XY tried to poison Lord Xiang Liu. He acted in self defense. 😂

Don't leave XL nation. 😂 yes, it is very sad and devastating. 💔 you should try to finish it for him.

Historically, emperors all over East Asia took "hostages" from tribute nations, as away to show fealty. They were often princes (and thier mother if they were concubine born). They would still live a life of luxery. So in c ontext, CX was hostage to Haoling as a gesture of good faith.

XY's character never truly grows. As someone who loves character development, XY failed to impress me as protagonist. LYF as a story is beautifully tragic, even for XY becuase she never truly overcomes her interpersonal problems.
