I liked this story a lot when I started to watch, but suddenly out of the blue our princess was turned into a brothel worker for saving her cousin Cian, great mistake after my opinion.
I have seen the whole story and the first 19-20 episodes was amazing and I loved the story. After the ending I was a bit pissed because I thought it couldn't end like this. After thinking about it I now realise that it was not a romantic story, but a story about revenge. Han Yuan Niang had several goals to achieve: get her real identity restored, get the Hans family and Hans army honour restored and revenge against the emperor She made Chen Yan Yi fall in love with her, and then broke his heart. She achieved all her goals and the ending scene shows it very clearly: She has a great smile on her face, while Chen Yan Yi ends with a very sad face. Despite I feel sorry for Chen Yan Yi, I think it was the right ending and there is no need for a season 2.
I loved the story from the beginning, but the way they got their wedding cancelled, I find it evil/cruel against Jiang Baiyu’s grandma.
But as usual in stories like these weddings are forbidden, despite the writer brought this topic into the story, if he hadn’t I would liked the story much more.
Jiang Baiyu never trust Shui Wuxia enough to tell her the truth about Shen Qingli, so when Shui Wuxia by accident to late in the story finds out that Jiang Baiyu actually is Shen Qingli, he is getting a memory loss, what a way to solve their trust issue.
This is not a story I would recommend to any of my friends.
