I'd add Do Hee from Ugly Alert. I know this drama is not popular because is really long, but she was so amazing!…
I was thinking abt Do Hee as I read this article. For a change, she was the chabeol( and not the male lead ), she helps her guy and protects him, gives him space with his family and not at all afraid of her sexual feelings for him as well. It was truly the best female lead portrayal I had seen in a long time. I have only watched until 72 eps though. Maybe the writers change her personality, but so far she has been the best.

This article reminded me of a scene in Reply 1997 - when all the female leads ask "why do you like me?" to their partners. Dont know if any of you remember this scene. The reason in most cases can be very simple - "she is pretty in my eyes". Love just happens.. No reason.. Nice article. Disagree with the case of MokDan. She was an extremely independent girl who was idealistic and I liked her and could totally understand why Kangto loves her too. :)

Omg! I experienced the exact sequence for Gaksital, City Hunter and Reply 1997 and the weird part is all 3 are of completely different genre. Gaksital absorbed my complete attention with its riveting plot and daringness( this was the only show that made me sad and happy with its ending ).City Hunter was adorable because of Lee Yoon Sung's desire to somehow make it through the disastrous revenge plot with everyone alive and safe and when Lee Joon Hyuk dies, god I crashed and burned. Reply 1997 - I have no words abt the show. It literally turned me into a puddle and I have rewatched it 10 times already and plan to keep watching it in the future. It had everything a good drama should and made me think of my own memories of the 90s. Keeping my fingers crossed to feel the same way abt Heirs and Reply 1994.

You left out Goong's second lead and My Girlfriend is a gumiho's second lead. They were pathetic. Also, I dont agree with you regarding My Girl's Seo In Woong character. He was a delightful second lead. He knew he didnt have much chance right from the word go. But at the same time actively pursued her. You cant accuse him of inaction or giving up too easily. The only time I hated him was when he tried to manipulate her and tried to take her to the US. But again, she remained strong and turned him down. I couldnt root for him but I couldnt hate him either. I genuinely think that he is a delightful second lead.
