I'm a 45 year old. Mentioning my age coz I'm fed up with the cancel culture these days. Teerak has wonderful parents.…
In the novel the dad is not homophobic though his reaction came from trauma. But of course they didn't explain that in the series so he came across as homophobic and that really bothers me. Why would they make him seem that way when he really isn't. But in the novel his best friend from childhood was gay and he was very accepting and supportive. The best friend was with his partner for years and thought they would be together forever but because of homophobia and pressure from society and family etc. the best friends partner left him and married a woman. The best friend was depressed and committed suicide. Rak's dad's reaction didn't come from homophobia but from fear that Rak might end up in the same situation as his best friend. I really wish they had included that in the series unless they purposefully left it out to make him seem homophobic.

Yall I saw that Typhoon in Fourever You has similar fear of darkness with Gun for a very heartbreaking reason.…
He told his friend Kong in episode 9 part 2 that when he was about 6 years old that he got trapped in a storage room alone in the dark for an hour I think and ever since then he has been afraid of the dark. They have never actually told what his nightmares are about though but I think he mostly has them if he sleeps with the lights off so maybe it's related to that incident. Why his parents didn't get him help for this after that incident is beyond me. But that is a long time to carry that trauma and fear with you. But as per usual in the world of BL I'm sure both his and Yotha's trauma will be healed by the power of love.

You are not a bad person for reminding people. It bothers me too. And it shouldn't be too much to ask but people act like it is.

You're Welcome!! I have been telling people pretty much everyday on different pages for different series and yet people still keep posting the names and links. It's exhausting and it's like they really don't care. These people that won't stop posting these are going to ruin it for everyone that uses these sites. It's ridiculous.

YES!! I completely agree with every thing you said. I also wish they had included this backstory because I do feel that it's omission significantly impacts his character arc. Without knowing his pain/trauma then people won't/can't understand why he is so worried/afraid. It did come across as he was prejudiced/homophobic and I really don't like that. I've seen several comments stating they thought he was homophobic, a bigot, full of hate and just a mean person when deep down he really isn't. But people are just basing their judgements based on what they were shown which is why I think it was important for them to include the dad's trauma and I don't understand why they didn't. Of course knowing the story doesn't justify how he treated Rak but it does help understand where his fear actually comes from and that he's really not homophobic. Is having him look/seem this way really what they were going for?

where to watch it ?
Officially IQIYI but if you want to watch it unofficially we can't share the links or names to those sites on here because it can lead to the sites being reported and taken down. One was just reported and taken down within the last couple of weeks. But if you want to send me a DM i can tell you privately where you can watch it.

The director said he is hoping to have it released by the end of the year. But because of other projects he probably can't even start filming season 2 until October but there is a small chance it can still air this year if they either start airing it towards the end of December or start airing it before filming all episodes. We just have to wait and see but hopefully we can get it this year.

It's not a typo lol!! All the freshman got silly nicknames from the seniors at orientation I guess as kind of a hazing thing. They were made to walk around campus with signs with their nicknames around their necks and made to do silly dances in front of everyone. And Saggy cheeks is the nickname given to him from the seniors and for some reason his friends started calling him that. But it doesn't seem to bother him. This will all be revealed in episode 8. How the seniors came up with saggy cheeks though I don't know.

It was in the novel and the dad is not a closeted bigot he was triggered because of trauma. His best friend from childhood into adulthood was gay and had a partner for years and he was very accepting and supportive. The best friend was close to the family like an uncle to Babe and Rak. But when Babe and Rak were still little kids because of homophobia and pressure from society and family etc. the best friends partner left him and married a woman. The best friend was devastated and depressed and committed suicide. It was really hard for Rak's dad and messed him up. He then started feeling/thinking that even if same sex relationships were somewhat more accepted now that as long as they weren't fully accepted by society and every one that no same sex relationship would be able to endure all the hate and pressure and so none would last. He was worried/scared that Rak could end up in the same situation as his best friend. But because of his fear he behaved and treated Rak the way that he was afraid of others treating him. But of course this wasn't told in the show so he did come off as looking homophobic.

The father’s sudden 180 wasn’t written convincingly. You can’t realistically reverse that depth of hatred…
I agree it wasn't written convincingly or properly explained. Because according to the novel the dad doesn't have hatred and isn't homophobic. He has strong worries and fears that stem from a trauma. Actually his best friend from childhood was gay and had a partner for years and Rak's dad was very accepting and supportive. His best friend was very close to the family as well like an uncle to Babe and Rak. But when Babe and Rak were still little kids the best friends partner suddenly left him after years together to marry a woman because of non-acceptance and pressure from society, family etc. The best friend was very devastated and depressed because of this and committed suicide. It really messed Rak's dad up (it was his life long friend after all). He was worried/scared because same sex relationships still aren't fully accepted that Rak might end up in the same situation as his friend. His fear led him to behave in a way that seems like he was homophobic and some of the problems he was worried/scared of Rak facing (non-acceptance, pressure) ended up coming from him.

Teerak's father represents a complex archetype we see all too often: the outwardly gentle, loving parent who struggles…
The thing is he isn't really homophobic. At least in the novel he wasn't but that wasn't explained in the series so he comes off to be. In the novel his best friend from childhood was gay and had a partner for years and Rak's dad was very accepting and supportive. The best friend was very close to the family even being there when Babe and Rak were born and was like an uncle to them. But when Rak was still a baby the best friends partner suddenly left him to marry a woman because of non-acceptance and pressure from society, family etc. The best friend was so devastated and depressed by this that he committed suicide. That really messed Rak's dad up and made him scared and feel that since same sex relationships still aren't very accepting and same sex couples still have to face a lot of pressure and homophobia that no same sex relationship will be able to last forever. He was scared that Rak would/could end up in the same situation as his best friend. But his fear led him to behave in a way that made him seem homophobic and the pressure and non- acceptance he was afraid of his son facing ended up coming from him.

I don't disagree that it's a bit much. But it seems to be a thing in a few if not more series that people have fears/traumas from children into adulthood that were never addressed. As Gaia mentioned up above in I Saw You In My Dream the same exact thing as Gun in this series happened to one of the main leads in that series and he was still scared of the dark as an adult. Every time he slept with the lights off he would have nightmares, if their was a power outage he would have a panic attack and the neighbor who ends up being his boyfriend always came to the rescue to hold him/cuddle him through the dark. And in between us Team never got over his swimming trauma from a kid even though he was on the swimming team and got a swimming scholarship from college. He would have flashbacks and nightmares of the incident when he was a kid and often had insomnia and always went to sleep with Win because he was scared of the nightmares. Although in Between Us Team did say he started getting help when he was a kid and was put on medicines but he was still struggling as an adult. But somehow magically once he started sleeping with Win every night he started getting better and somehow stopped having nightmares and for the final touch he finally got forgiveness from the person hurt in the original incident and then he is somehow finally over his trauma just like that. They seem to either not let the characters get help or when they do they still don't recover until they fall in love and somehow their partners love heals them. So I'm guessing that somehow once Gun and Yotha get together they are both magically going to be better through the power of love or whatever it is they have.

I'm guessing that Teerak's dad is the type who supports LGBTQ+ as long as it's not a part of his family. I think…
Actually in the novel the dad wasn't like that originally. In the novel his best friend from childhood was gay and in a same sex relationship for years and Rak's dad knew it and was supportive. The best friend was there when Rak and Babe were born and like an uncle to them. But suddenly because of pressure from society, family etc. the best friends partner left him and married a woman. The best friend was so depressed because of this that he committed suicide. This deeply affected Rak's dad and made him think that with same sex relationships still not being fully accepted that no same sex relationship would/could work out and so he was scared of Rak ending up in the same situation his best friend did. Of course that doesn't make the way he acted ok and his thinking was flawed because whether it's a same sex relationship or hetero relationship people can still break up and get hurt and depressed because of it so him thinking that Rak needs to be with a woman so he won't get hurt is ridiculous.

In episode 9 part 2 at the 3 minute mark Gun explained to Kong that when he was a kid he got trapped/locked in a storage room in the dark for an hour before anyone found him and since then he has been scared of the dark.
