I'm sorry but between Fl's mom and Yiming if they don't stop being annoying real quick or either disappear then…
Exactly!! And I feel uncomfortable for her. And her best friend is honestly getting under my skin too because she is the one who brought Yiming to Zhi's apartment for dinner without telling her, let him into Zhi's apartment when she wasn't there without Zhi's permission, and switched seats and let him sit near Zhi making it awkward for her. I get that Yiming is her brother but Zhi is her best friend and she knows that Zhi doesn't like her brother so what she is doing is disrespectful to Zhi.
The brother is already enough on his own but she doesn't need to be disregarding Zhi's feelings as well and helping her brother make Zhi uncomfortable.
Oh good glad to hear that. Personally I hope it happens soon.
I'm sorry but between Fl's mom and Yiming if they don't stop being annoying real quick or either disappear then…
Zhi needs to tell him quick then because I really can't tolerate much more of his pursuit. In all honesty even if I had feelings for some one but they acted like him I would lose my feelings real quick because I find it annoying. He is too full on and it is too much.
I'm sorry but between Fl's mom and Yiming if they don't stop being annoying real quick or either disappear then…
Oh yeah I think you are probably right. But to be honest as much as her controlling gets on my nerves (and it does BAD) Yiming is worse. He should be able to tell that Zhi is NOT Interested but he still lurks around her like a creep.
I agree!! I would be mad at Nan Feng if I was Zhi. And Yiming needs to get lost. First the mom was annoying me…
I see your point and would agree that he is worse. I know yesterday I went on a rant about the mom because she really did get on my nerves and honestly she did again in episode 10 with the whole marriage to Yiming thing without even caring how her daughter feels. Parents who try to control their adult kids just doesn't sit right with me. Parents where I'm from DO NOT do that AT ALL like it is not even a thing. Once kids turn adults the parents back off and let their kids make their own decisions whatever they may be even if they don't agree with them. But I understand it is their culture so even though I don't like it or agree with it I am trying to be more understanding of that.
But everything you said about him is true and it is disgusting. I just wonder how long we have to put up with him for because I honestly don't know how long I can. If he doesn't change or disappear real quick it might affect my rating a bit but I hope not. Hopefully the rest of the characters and story will make up for it.
YiMing gets more and more on my nerves every second he's on screen. And he's also making me dislike Nan Feng.…
I agree!! I would be mad at Nan Feng if I was Zhi. And Yiming needs to get lost. First the mom was annoying me and now it's him and he might even be worse than the mom. I really like FL and ML and most of the other characters and really want to finish this but if I have to tolerate Yiming much more I am going to lose it.
PLZZ guy's don't give low rating let's it UP UP UP 🫠😊
I'm sorry but between Fl's mom and Yiming if they don't stop being annoying real quick or either disappear then it will make my rating drop because they both seriously get on my nerves.
I forgot to add what I would like to see:Her mother (and father) realising that she has talent as an artist, and…
I agree with all of this and also about the mom and the stalker-like third wheel. They are really annoying to me and I don't know how much or how long I can tolerate them so I really hope they both stop being so annoying or either disappear real soon.
Her mom is not that bad. While in argument with Wei Zhi, she said she already ask her secretary to investigate…
If it's really true that she's not that bad then that is good. I guess I will have to see in future episodes but she really annoyed me in episode 8.
Edit: Just when I was hoping that you were right and she was not that bad I watched episode 9 and see her trying to force her daughter into a marriage that she doesn't want so nope for me she is still BAD.
Talking bad about her daughter in front of others and trying to force her into a marriage are things that just trigger me and make me want to explode. I understand that it is different cultures and I don't mean to offend anyone or sound mean but I can't help the way I feel. Adults should have the right to make their own choices including careers and significant others. I really like the show but her mom might just make my rating drop a little. But I'll wait and see how I feel at the end. I absolutely hated the FL mom in The First Frost she is worse than any I have seen but I still gave it a 10 because I loved the rest of the characters and the story. So I'll just have to see how I feel at the end of this series.
I understand your point and I hope my comment wasn't offensive cause I wasn't trying to be. But I can't help that it really bothered me. But if I'm going to watch asian dramas/series I guess I need to get used to the different ways and cultures. Thanks!!
I just can't help it I think she is horrible. I mean putting her daughter down in front of others saying she isn't as good as them? That is just cruel. Even if that's what she thinks she shouldn't put her daughter down like that in front of others that could be humiliating for her daughter. The best friends mom had to speak up and defend her. That just really got to me and makes me glad I have great parents who even though they didn't always agree with mine and my siblings decisions NEVER talked bad about us to others and would defend us if others said anything bad about us. And saying that she is ashamed of her daughter. What has she done that is so shameful really? After seeing this mom I want to give my mom a HUGE hug and thank her for NOT being like this.
I can respect your opinion but to me she is absolutely horrible. The moment she started putting her daughter down in front of others she became absolutely horrible. No good parent should do that ever. My parents haven't always agreed with all the decisions my siblings and I have made but they never once talked bad about us in front of others and if anyone else dared say anything bad about us they would speak up real quick to defend us and tell them where they could stick there opinion. My parent also NEVER said they were ashamed of us even though they didn't always agree with our decisions. They were just there to support us and help us if we needed it if our decisions turned out to be mistakes. And IMO that's what a parent should do. Putting your children down in front of others is cruel and humiliating for your children. But her mom had no problem putting her daughter down and even comparing her to the best friend and her brother in front of everyone? Her mom had no problem saying she was ashamed of her daughter either but why? What has she done that is so shameful really? These things just didn't sit right with me. Of course this is just my opinion.
I will say though at least this mom isn't as bad as the mom in The First Frost (don't know if you've seen it) but I would take this mom any day over that one but still this one annoys me bad.
I am on ep 2 and im actually liking this but heard the mother of the fl is annoying asf. Is that true cause im…
She is pretty annoying. She belittles her daughter all the time. Doesn't like anything her daughter does and thinks nothing her daughter does is ever good enough. Says her daughter's job isn't a real career and that she's just fooling around, she went to learn snowboarding with her best friend and her mom had an issue with that. Told her daughter she wasn't allowed to go anywhere. Her daughter is 22 and has her own apartment and the mom got upset because her daughter wasn't staying/living at home I wonder why? She wants to arrange her daughter's relationship with the best friends brother who has had a crush on her for years but she doesn't like him. They had a dinner with the best friends family and her mom was insulting her the whole time to the other family which is weird considering that she wants their son to date her daughter but she is telling them how bad she is? The best friends mom actually stood up for FL against FL mom and said she thought FL was great and would love to have her as a daughter. FL mom comparing her daughter to the best friend and her brother they are better at her daughter at every thing blah blah. Blames her husband for their daughter not being good enough because he "spoiled her too much" and told her husband that she is ashamed of their daughter and for what exactly? What did she do that is so shameful? Luckily the mom has only been in 2 episodes so far. The first time she just was on for a couple of minutes but in episode 8 she was on for longer and REALLY wore out her welcome. She got on every one of my nerves. I really hope we don't have to see her too much because I can't tolerate her. It's sad because other than her it is a really good and cute series.
You mentioned the mom in First Frost and she is actually in this drama too,she appears in episode 8 but she is good here she plays FL best friends mom the one that defended FL to her mom.
Seeing Yifan's mother so soon is giving me flashbacks
Same and if I'm being honest Zhi's mom in this series is annoying me bad. I hope we don't have to see her too much. Like it's not enough that she tries to control her adult daughter's life, puts her daughter down and treats her and acts like her daughter isn't good enough. But to insult her daughter and put her down in front of the other family? That is just cruel and disgusting behavior. Then to tell her husband that she was ashamed of her daughter? Nah, I'm done with her and don't want to see her anymore.
We are getting a second season with the other couples don't know if that counts as a spin-off. And the director…
No because the special episode was announced at the fan meet which was the same day the last episode aired and was said to be released sometime in March or April because they still had to film it.
did i hear rightor did i hear wrongare we getting a spin-off?
We are getting a second season with the other couples don't know if that counts as a spin-off. And the director had said we would get a special episode of Johan/North sometime either this month or next month.
I don't comment much on MDL anymore because over the last few years since I joined I learned how bad and sometimes toxic it can be with people arguing and even insulting each other so I just decided to stay away for a while. But after watching The First Frost I had to come back and say a few things.
I've read a LOT of the comments and disagreements on here about Wen Yifan leaving/running away leaving Sang Yan twice. And I agree that her running away the second time was a bad decision and it did leave a bitter feeling with me but not just because she ran away again and hurt Sang Yan again but because I know how harmful and unhealthy it was not just for Sang Yan and the others around her but also for herself.
The entire way she dealt with her trauma was very unhealthy (speaking from experience of watching someone I love deal with trauma in sort of the same way). Running away or cutting off/distancing yourself from the people who care about you and not leaning on them for help/support, not talking about (yes I know it's hard almost impossible to do for some), not facing/accepting it so you can be able to heal and move forward, keeping it all to yourself thinking you can deal with it alone all of these are very unhealthy/harmful both mentally and physically. So for this reason I really wanted to scream at her. But I also understand that trauma affects people differently and people deal with/handle trauma differently. And when a person is going through trauma they don't /can't think clearly and don't always make the best choices/decisions. They don't know the right way to handle it so they just handle it the way that seems right to them at the time, the way that gives them some comfort even a little. They can't/don't always see or understand the harm their actions cause to not only those around them but also to themselves they just see/think about what's going to protect them or make them feel safe at that moment. And yes their actions can come across as mean and selfish even though they don't mean for them to be. So we really shouldn't judge and should be more understanding. And you can't force a person to talk about or face their trauma or seek help, they have to do it in their time when they are ready because again it's not always easy to talk about it or ask for help especially in Wen Yifan's situation when even her family abandoned her. And I don't really think that she didn't trust Sang Yan I just think it was hard for her to talk about. She said herself she felt it was embarrassing and shameful so she didn't want him to know, and for her to feel that way when she wasn't the one who did anything wrong just tells how much she was damaged emotionally and mentally by her pathetic excuse of a family. I really felt sorry for her and very sad for what she went through.
Now that I got that rant out of the way on to a few statements and questions I have after watching.
1) Poor Yifan I just want to wrap her in a BIG hug.
2) Is there a worse mom or family in general in existence?
3)Was someone slicing onions during episodes 24 & 25 because oh my I can't remember the last time I cried so much. I didn't know I could produce so many tears.
4) The lousy aunt only got 3 years in prison? And the mom didn't really get any consequences? I mean yes Yifan completely cut off from her (which lets be honest she deserves) but she left Yifan there with those horrible people even after Yifan begged her to get her away from there so isn't she in a way responsible for what happened?
5) The proposal scene was beautiful!! Him crying, oh my goodness you can just see and feel how much he loves her throughout the whole drama.
6)Last but not least is there a Sang Yan in real life? Because my lord I want one!!
I really loved this drama so much and it is definitely going on my rewatch list (even though the tears will probably flow again). Definitely recommend!!
